just as title states.. i been to enough stealerships and i said **** letting them install it for the price.. i can get the flash for free because i know a service tech.. so im just gonna go ahead and swap the to the stage 2" pully and then do the injectors/flash at the dealer tomorrow..

now my question.. im gonna get a puller from autozone because i dont give a **** about the stock pulley.. however.. how did you get guys get the press modular piece on? wood + rubber mallet or what

I highly recommend the ZZP puller / installer...it's about 100 bucks new, but they also have a rental service where you can use it for like 15-20 bucks, I think. You'll have to pay it all up front, but they'll refund you the difference when you send it back.

you really wanna know how i did it , we got the hub , put it on my biggest stove top , turned it up to 10 , let it sit for 20 mins , got some togs , grabbed it off with the tongs , put crisco on the blower shaft , and it slid right on , you have to be quick , make sure you dont put it on backwards

done it with my cobalt and gtp

If you know a tech, let him do it. If you mess that shaft up you'll be wishing you paid the dealership price. What are they talking about cost wise for that? $100? Which is the price of the pulley puller if you bought it.

Why spend 100 dollars when you can put it on for free. Go to autozone and buy a pulley puller installer. After your done take it back. Its called renting the tool. You want one for Chevys. Its called a pulley puller installer. Its used for power steering and things like that. It will re-thread the new GM pulley on and then you can titghten up the bolts to the correct spec. I install all my mods myself and my car is running awesome. 13.6 @108 on all GM bolt ons and stage II. With drag radials thats high 12s man. Good luck with the install. If you have any more questions just ask me.

Bump For Those Installing GM Stage II themselfs. Good for you.

The possibility of screwing it up is fairly high and the cost of that repair is high as well. Since they will be doing the injectors, why not finish the job? It that pulley goes on too far the shaft will be bent. Then the s/c has to come off and be disassembled for repair. Downtime approx 3 weeks at best.

I hope I don't say this and it happens but only a dumb ass can **** up the stage II install. Everyone makes mistakes but you just have to use common sense. Stage II is a pretty easy install. Its not as easy as a normal bolt on but follow directions and you will be fine. I have a magizine with directions in it. The GM directions are also worthy of working correctly. Good luck man.
