Just curious if anyone else is waiting for a new muffler for there SS/SC. Has anyone had it replaced yet and if so did the problem come back ? I have been waiting for 2 weeks so far.

 

hey tio, im still waiting for mines its been like a month already. Also i was reading a recent replied message they left me. one of the members said that this is detonation which sounds like a BB in a can. And he says is the worst enemy of forced induction. Now my question is.
Will the new exhaust fix this.

 

are you guys talking about the repeated clicking under the car after it is shut off cuz mine does that too...and i never thought about it until i saw this post...is it bad for the car and what can i do to get it fixed

 

No, I had a rattling sound coming from my muffler while running. That clicking/pinging that you hear after you shut your car off is normal, it is just the metal cooling off and contracting.

 

I have the same problem and they refuse to do anything about it. They say they let the car cool down and turned it on and they never heard anything, they said they tried a bunch of times, and when i went to pick up the car the radio was on and the settings were changed so i wonder how hard they were trying to listen if they had the music going? and it's not like the sound isn't obvious either, all my friends and family hear it too.

 

i'm not waiting for a backordered exhaust, but i ordered some new emblems for my car and the supercharged one came in abotu 5 days, the " SS " emblem is on backorder until atleast september... what kind of crap is that??? i mean it's a damn sticker lol

 

I got my exhaust done locally but they can make them and ship them to anyone who wants one.

They are called Altered Atmospheres (www.alteredatmosphere.com) and they will make you a 3 inch cat back system. It's about 10 horse power. They have a loud or a quiet version.

I am going to do a write up soon with some pictures with a Dyno.

They use Vibrant mufflers.

 

i think all the people here are just trying to get the replacement oem muffler
