yeah high 9s in a/f ratio would be rich as hell, which is ALWAYS better than running lean. If he was that far in the other direction from his 11.5 tune then that would be bad. Im getting snow's meth setup probably in another month along with my cxracing h/e and dual pass with option b setup. Once I get that squared away im going to drop down to a 2.7 from a 2.9. With the cooling mods im going to get tuned, then drop the pulley and adjust the tune as needed from there. Should be good to go then!

I'm tuned 12:1 all the way up. It's perfectly safe on meth.

Yea, I guess. On the other hand, cylinder wash is no joke either. I guess my point was just that I never recommend anybody do anything that will change their AFR without getting a tune. Even a CAI in my opinion should be tuned for. Header/DP, meth... They should all be tuned for, because you never know when that one stupid mod that everyone thought was okay to do without a tune can throw your AFRs in the danger zone and "POP!" there goes a piston, or a ring, or... Besides that, if you think about it, what mod can you do to your car that doesn't "require" a tune will get you as much HP per dollar as a tune?

Try lowering your AFR in PE to 11.8 at about 3k rpms and work up to your 12.1 at 5k and up. You might like it.

lol. d00d. Stop stalking me.

Besides, I've not had a chance to try that yet with meth. Just going with my limited knowledge of physics. I was hoping he would try it and tell me if it works.

Oh, and I hope you won't be running that 2.7 on stage 2 injectors. Even with meth, you'll **** them off in a very unpretty way.

I posted here first!

But if I let everyone do whatever they wanted, people would be blowing up cars and I would have nobody to send me PMs all the time and...

Hmmm... Never mind, run meth without tuning. Oh and max out your IFR table at 63.5 and... and... and... zero out your adders... and... and... and... bounce your car off your rev limiter... and... and... and...

***sigh***

Anyone tried starting with an AFR ~11 and slowly leaning out to ~11.5 by around 5k rpms? That would be without meth of course, but I'm just wondering.

Physics 101:

Rich adds torque, lean adds HP. Where is our torque curve the strongest? Where is our peak HP? I've done 11.2 low - 11.7 high with decent success, but without access to a dyno, it's just speculation. The one chance I got to dyno, I pulled a lot harder commanding 11.4 low than commanding 12.4 low and working down to 11.5 (like most want to do it). The bad thing is the dyno kept flipping out at around 5000-5500rpm (iirc), so I got no reading above that. Car definately likes rich down low though.

Yea, right now my tOoN is set to 11.2~11.3. I think I'll get that to lean out to 11.5 higher up in the rpm range.
