It's so easy.

Step 1: Remove the screw cover in the upper part of the A pillar cover.
Step 2: Remove the screw securing the A pillar cover (7 mm socket).
Step 3: From the top of the A pillar cover, gently pry it away. There are two clips securing the cover at the middle and the bottom of the A pillar cover which just snap out.
Step 4: Unplug the connector from the boost gauge.
Step 5: Loosen two nuts securing the gauge to the inner tubing of the A pillar cover.

Voila!! Replace with any gauge you wish - the Aeroforce is a good starting point!!

i know this might sound stupid, but will an aftermarket gauge turn on when the head lights turn on, or do you have to run a separet switch to turn the light on. lol i hope this aint a stupid question.

If you use the wires that are for the stock gauge it will come on when you turn the key.

Why are you changing the gauge anyway? Especially with just a different boost gauge.....seems like a waste

what do you mean stock wires? you dont have to run new ones. im getting a new boost/vac gauge a autometer c2 because i like the light, and im also getting a auto meter air fuel ratio gauge, and a aeroforce interceptor

I thought you were swapping it out for another electrical not mechanical.

In any case there are 4 (if i remember correctly) electrical wires to the harness for the stock gauge, splicing into them will give you any power to need for the new gauge as soon as the key is turned on.

Oh and don not try to run the Interceptor and AEM wideband (if you go that route) off the same fuse...AEM draws too much power.

That is entirely up to you, most people have left the stock gauge or removed the boost gauge entirely. I think a better option than just replacing it with a different boost gauge would be to get dual interceptors and monitor boost on one of the 4 channels you would have.

I guess stick with electrical. All the wiring is there and you won't have to run the vacuum line through the firewall. But again that is up to you.

Ah. In that case I would stick with the electrical for ease of installation. I don't know how hard it would be in the 'Balt to run the vacuum line but in my Passat it was a pain and I never got a good seal on the back of the gauge so I never had a consistent boost reading.

oh ok, but with a mechanical all you have to run is a vacuum line and a power and ground wire?

yep. the power and ground for the light and the vacuum for the operation. The vacuum line being spliced into an existing line attached to the manifold
