How to replace manual shift knob???

My shift knob is the one with the pull up for reverse feature, FYI.

The vinyl/leather is wearing off (POS) and the stainless is all f'd up so i was tying to figure out how to remove the damn thing and it just wont budge... i pulled up the boot cover and theres nothing down there to remover the knob like a release or somehting and i dont wanna break it.

anyone know how to take this thing off? if so, are there any replacements that work with the reverse lift feature?

thanks,
newbie

i believe u pry up the silver piece with the shift pattern on it and there will be a screw under it... after that it should pull up.

We don't have replaceable shift knobs like most cars. Your best bet is to get a short throw shifter from TWM, B&M, Hurst etc. Some of them you can choose to eliminate or keep reverse lockout as well.
