You shouldn't go any smaller at all until your car is ready for it. Also, if you actually tried to switch to a smaller pulley in between stock and stage II then you'll have to get a custom pulley made by Nherbst on Ebay....but oh one problem, those are made for the stage II hub.

Well if you actually want an answer, a 2.85 is the absolute lowest I would go without a tune... you can ask Area47 about it he did my tune on my 2006 and it was actually pretty scary! But a 2.8 is the maximum efficiency (ie: not over spinning the blower!)!!!

He asked what size he could use stock before he gets stage II.

Plus he needs a Stage II hub unless he got a press on pulley made.

In other words, not worth it at all. It's actually kind of funny that we are even discussing this.

Yea you can get away with a slightly smaller pulley but I don't think it would be worth it. Just wait for you stage 2 kit IMO.

its not that funny... a lot of people used to think that you could lower the pulley size w/o changing the injectors. we have had to go through a lot of trial and error with these cars to get to the point were we are now, you would laugh your ass off if you saw the mods that were concidered good a while back. and also im sure he knows that he has to get a pulley hub and pulley ring, but if you are talking about droping sizes you usually just say pulley.

Yeah, a few people have told me about some of the mods that were performed a while back. I know that newcomers have the luxury of using failures as a guide of what not to do, but some things just have to do with all around performance modding.

I know this isn't that bad of a question, but it's definately not worth it.

If you have to ask this question you don't know nearly enough about this car to begin swapping pulleys. I'm not being a jerk I'm stating the truth. Do yourself a favor and read up for a couple months so that you realize what's going on here with the different sized pulleys and the stock SC.

Just a tip for you, going cheap and trying to do the smallest pulley for the least amount of effort (swapping Injectors, etc etc) is not the way to mod a car correctly. It won't be long before you break something. If you are going to mod do it right. The cheap way is always the wrong way.
