HP tuners

I know it's probably been ask before, but I looked and cant find the info I'm looking for. I'm looking at getting a HP tuner

Are people having problems with this kit??
Whats the worst that can happend to my car with this?
Does anyone recommend or not recommend it??
Is there constant tweeking required, or can you set it once and your jamming??
How much WHP/WTQ has been proven on the dyno of a SAFE setting?

And any other info that would be relevant.

Many people who dont know what they will doing will have problems with HP tuners. It isnt a kit.

The worst thing that can happen is you blowing your engine.

I recommened it.

Once you get a good tune you'll need to change it with every mod. Also, you need to get an intercepter and a wideband to monitor your engine.

Gains will completely depend on your other mods. I believe someone has gained about 10/10 on a stock engine with colder plugs.

You dont need an interceptor if you have the HPtuners really, lol. The HPtuners actually reads most things the interceptor does if not more.

I have a friend that seems familiar with stuff like that. He wants to go splits, is it worth the risk for the added h/p??

If you have no clue what you are doing, don't buy it. I had no clue what I was doing when I bought mine, however, I could give 2 craps about blowing my motor up. Also, I take lots of time every day to research and learn, as well as adjusting some parameters on my car slightly and seeing what they do.

LoL, dude, everytime I go wot, I HAVE to look at my scan gauge. I've been getting knock for pretty much the whole time I owned my car, and I finally fixed it with a safe safe tune, however, I must look at the gauge because for some reason, I have a feeling the KR is going to show up again and haunt me like it has for quite some time.

HP tuners software that help people adjust timming, fuel, and a hole bunch of other settings in the car. If you do not know anything about tuning a car then this might not be for you. If you are a dyno shop then it would be a must. If you are serious about tuning your car and have a lots of mods that the cars need to be adjusted for then this is your answer.

The best thing you should do is just get your car dyno tuned with it at a dyno shop.

Those are great questions. If you didn't have HPTuners or have someone close by with it the way you get your stock settings back would be dependent on going to the dealership and telling them you have some sort of issue with the way the car runs. It takes some serious digging with the Tech2 to find out its been flashed, and I'm not entirely sure they can tell. As far as winter applications, I think it might help some, but the air temp really plays with our cars. The winter weather and amount of moisture affects how our cars run a great deal. I tuned some cars during the summer and they are struggling at times now that its winter. As far as tuning for your mods, it will make a tremendous change, especially in your mpg. I know the computer doesn't learn and the addition of an intake and exhaust probably puts your a/f ratio near 10:1 which leaves room for improvement in performance and mpg. If I were you, I'd pm TAG and shoot your concerns and ideas to him. I know he's a business man, but I get the feeling he's more than willing to look out for your interest and give you a better solution. It might be a long drive, but I am sure it will be worth it.

Yeah memphis I think you might be right on not getting it. I got have an ideal how to run any of those things, but I cant afford to blow the thing up!! I need that warranty :-s. For the added hp. I know It makes the car run better, but the car is still fast now and wanrrantied

My advice, if you are serious about tuning, buy hptuners, but also get a tune from a company (like Doc said) and see what was changed, how they changed it, and learn from there.

I'll try that out!! thanx for the help!!

Final question, their is a guy from downhome that sells AEM fuel management systems, would that work on my car?? I know he's awesome with those kits. Could he play around with boost in forst gear and play with rev limiter and all that? Or is that simply a air/fuel regulator
