HP Tuners question...

OK so I have a few questions about HP tuners if I may. My bro wants me to buy this w/ him and between me, him, and his friend it should be a little over 200 a piece.

1.) Lets say I saved my stock tune. What it is now w/ out any modifications. Then I create a new tune and use that. When I go in for warranty work or if something where to go wrong would I be able to switch back to the stock tune and would anyone be able to tell this was done? (people from GM or the Dealership?)

2.) Can the tune be applied w/ out the car running? (engine off)

3.) Per the mods in my Sig what kinda gains would HP tuners be worth HP / TQ wise?

4.) Does anyone w/ similar mods to me have a custom tune already that I would be able to use? If so can you send it to me?

I think that about covers it. If theres something else I should know, please mention it.

Thanks.

1) Yes you will be able to go back to the stock tune and as far as I know they dealership would not be able to tell that the tune was ever changed

2) You have to flash the ECU with the engine off, it can't be done while the engine is running.

Thanks for the answers above. That helps

I heard you can modify settings while your driving arround or is that not accurate? I recieved all my info from my bro lol.

Any idea on extra HP? I wanna take my redline to 7100 so that I can shif at exactly 7000 w/ out hitting limiter. I doubt much HP would come from this, but would you gain HP from increasing timing?

I'm taking my limiter to 7200 or maybe 7300, sometimes the revlimiter kicks in a couple hundred rpm early. Plus it won't hurt anything going to 7200.

the gm reflash is all timing bro lol you can increase timing and such (small imcriments) until you start getting knock then you take it back a few degrees then data log after you satisfied, play with a/f, volts, etc

im not sure you tune while your moving u pull over on side of road, or tune it while your cooling down on the dyno.

1) Yes you can. I dunno if they can tell if you flashed it.
2) It only can be applied with the car off.

4) Think you can buy a tune from Rob @ hoosier for your car.

im excited to see my 7k redline , i love having the parts to hold all this on my engine (race head, bottom end) The deal with bumping up shiftpoints and increasing timing is going to do wonders for us, well should. Guy i know of has a turbo cavalier and he increased timing, bumped shiftpoints to 7k on his auto like mine and tuned his a/f ratio and went from a 13.6 to a 13.1 so you tell me if its worth it

HPT for us is basically gonna be all about advancing our timing and air fuel ratios. gm reflashes pull ALOT of timing to stay reliable but i dont think us 3 are caring about that, we're trying to put some nice numbers down.

All the dealer looks at is the OS number.( I think) With me i just scanned my Stage 2 made and copy then edited the copy. so when my dealer looks at my car they see the same OS number as Stage 2.
