HP Tuners and tire size calibrations

You can change your tire size using HP tuners, correct? Do you just enter the actual tire diameter, or enter the new tire size? (ie. 235/35/19). Thanks.

you enter the revolutions per mile I believe, this is usually readily available from the tire maker or even Tire Rack.

haha, i've wanted to know this for a while now. i feel as if my speedometer is slightly off, ever since i passed one of those radar speed limit thingys the cops put out and it was 3mph lower than what my speedometer read.

i went from the stock 215/45/18 Pirellis to 225/40/18 Nittos

you are confusing odometer (mileage of the car) to speedometer (speed of the car)

So if I set the diameter of the tire size as double what i'm currently running, the odometer would essentially read 1 mile for every 2 miles driven? Am I getting this right?

I think sum1 is about to attempt sumthing illegal , this was meant for honest ppl to get an honest reading from their speedometer/odometer.

Its an honest question that no one seems to be able to answer.
I'm fully aware of it being illegal. Honda did something similar and got busted in a multi million dollar lawsuit for it. (How else you think Honda's are able to get such high mileage?)
The reason for me asking is that I plan on changing tire sizes soon and I would love to have my speedometer reading correctly, However, if it messes with the odometer I'd rather bite the bullet.

it doesnt mess with the odometer reading, it CANT.

If you make your tire size double what it is now the odometer and speedo would read TWICE what you were actually doing, so if you were going 25 it woould say 50, and when you drive 1 mile it would say you went 2.

SO if you have 10,000 miles right now, and you change your tire size to a size double what it is now your odometer will STILL say 10,000 miles, until you drive and then it will go up at the rate that matches the tire you put in.

thats what I meant, you slow the rate at which your mileage goes up there fore displaying a smaller number of miles than is actually on the car, which would be illegal.

I wasnt saying that you could go in and change the actual current reading.
