Unhappy Hurst Issues!!!!!

ok, i have had my hurst for a few months now...and after a couple weeks of driving it gets sloppy...so i take it apart, take the allen stud out, put new loc-tite on it, and put it back in....it fixes the problem, for a week or so, then it happens again!!! any ideas?

what i have found to work is when it first starts to get sloppy again twist it as hard as u can to get the lock screw to bite on the metal..mines been good for a while like that(couple months) but i think thats a problem with most...maybe a better loc tight

i have the same issue, i've heard you have to replace that little screw they give you with a longer one.

I can actually twist mine a full 360 degrees.

i have done that exact thing about 3 times...and i have even stepped up to the perminant loc tite...idk whats goin on...im thinking of putting a smalllll little dab of jb weld inside the ball joint so it helps take some stress off of that little allen stud....and if i had to i could still get the ball off the rod....but idk, just a thought i had, dosent mean its a good one..lol

Yea just get a good, sharp drill bitt. A really simple thing to do and i think its the best thing to fix the problem. It took me all of five mins to do.

if your knob is crooked (LOL) just loosen the knob until the numbers line up straight... then loosen the screw part that has the spring under it (the part the knob goes down on) until everything tightens up...

it's all in the instructions... but it's really wierd to read... it took me installing it on 2 different cars to get it right...

lmao Gehy Cobalt FTL!

I had my dad make me a T-handle for the Hurst actually, and After we got that to Stay parallel to the dash, i figured I could do the same for the ball... but some how when I put the ball on, it will always seem to move just enough to make it look off.

(My hust ball aslo came with a scratch on it from the vendor so Ive been looking into getting a new 1 anyway maybe w/o the pattern)
