Hurst Issues!!!!!
Do you guys use the reverse lockout? It seems when i used the reverse lockout the shiter
wouldn't line up right so it would twist it everytime i went to put in reverse. Moving it over seem to fix my problem. Might try drilling it out though.

I have a post on here somewhere....but I had the same problem the day I put the Hurst shifter in. It would rock back and forth. So I took it out, took out the set screw and went to the hardware store. I bought three set screws. Two were one size larger in width (one longer than the other) and one was 2 sizes larger in width. I drilled out the hole for he next size up and tapped it. Installed with a little locktite and have not had any problems since (34k miles).
If you look at the set screw there is not much of the head in contact with the flat shank on the shifter. A wider set screw puts more surface on the lever.
