You dont even need to take off your shifter or boot to drill it, ill let you guys know thedrill bit size i used when i get off work.

Do you guys use the reverse lockout? It seems when i used the reverse lockout the shiter
wouldn't line up right so it would twist it everytime i went to put in reverse. Moving it over seem to fix my problem. Might try drilling it out though.

yeah, i use the reverse lock out....drilling it should help with that too i would imagine

So did you drill where the set screw was or did you just drill another hole, what about welding it, would that work.

I have a post on here somewhere....but I had the same problem the day I put the Hurst shifter in. It would rock back and forth. So I took it out, took out the set screw and went to the hardware store. I bought three set screws. Two were one size larger in width (one longer than the other) and one was 2 sizes larger in width. I drilled out the hole for he next size up and tapped it. Installed with a little locktite and have not had any problems since (34k miles).
If you look at the set screw there is not much of the head in contact with the flat shank on the shifter. A wider set screw puts more surface on the lever.
