unclip the gray clip that connects the stock shifter to the cable, and take it out while still on the shifter. After you take it out of the shifter assembly, THEN pry it off of the stock shifter assembly, not before.

And re-attach it before you put the hurst in, then clip it down.

I'm not sure about the hurst. The B&M instructions were tottal off. Did not even give me the right size of tools in the intructions. I had to cross things out and add things into the directions so next time I need them its correct. I hope it goes smooth for you.

I only marked 4th...

It tells you to put the car in 4th before you disassemble, and when you put it back together you just have to do trail and error to figure out what adjustments work best for finding 1-5 and R. The gray clip (the cable that hooks up to the bottom of the shifter) didnt need much adjusting from what it was stock, but the left one (moves forward and back when you move the shifter left and right) you need to mess with a bit to get it just right. Its going to be a little different for everyone I would think.

adjust that by moving the base of the shift knob up and down, and when you get it lined up right, tighten the knob and knob base down on eachother
