The LSD just keeps both wheels spinning so you don't get "one wheel wonders"...it doesn't nescissarily prevent traction loss.

yup, just be glad your spinning both wheels instead of just one.
Solutions to traction loss:
wider tires
better tires
spring blockers
VHT track bite (took a good tenth off my 60'
practice launching
lowering springs
There is no way you can just mash the throttle and expect no wheel spin without some type of suspension/tire help.

You can virtually eliminate it with a set of torque braces. I'm buying mine soon.
i saw a 06 G85 package today , as well as the ion redlines compitition package
but what he said is right , it keeps power to both tires , and help prevent smoking 1 tire in a hard turn
enjoy the sweet ride

So how is a Torque brace going to eliminate tire spin?
A torque brace eliminates wheel hop by keeping the engine in place.
As for the original topic this is just another misunderstanding of what LSD is.

LSD is also referred to as "posi traction" which most V8 muscle cars like the Mustangs and Camaros/Vettes have. It just distributes power evenly to both drive wheels which helps to improve wheel slip when going WOT around corners.
WRONG WRONG WRONG WRONG!
The quaife is NOT an LSD. Its a Torque biasing differentail. What this means is that when one wheels starts to slip, it applies MORE power to the wheel that has more grip and less to the free one. Thats why if you punch it in the rain, your car will shake from side to side as one wheel loses grip from the added tq that is distributed to it and as the other wheels gains grip as it loses tq. A regular LSD will just apply power evenly to both wheels and just let them both slip, while the quiafe is much better than that and tries to keep at least one wheel with traction. A very impressive design for a diff if i must say.
