I just realized something about our blowers

I'm sure someone already came up with the idea/suggestion, but I have a 2.6" pulley and recently I dropped my cutoff rpm from 7000 to stock 6500 and I can feel more power... I know that may not make sense to some of you, but then I had another idea.. what if I had say a 2.5" pulley and put my cutoff rpm at 6300 (see where I'm coming from?) You would have excellent torque, but your overall hp probably wouldn't suffer ( I don't think). I was then wondering about the m90 from the gtp's, it requires a little more power to turn but pushes more air. so what if you got a really small pulley for the m90 and set your cutoff rpm accordingly? you should still see some gains over a decent size pulley with rpm at 7200. Am I on to something? I'm sure a few of you will call me an idiot, or pull up a recent thread...

u feel more power cuz ur 2.6 is not as efficent at the higher rpm so ur over spinning ur blower and losing power up top simple as that

that's no longer accurate. exactly, but the faster you get there the more hp/torque right? given you have good traction. idk, somebody pinch me.

Yes I know I was over spinning my blower, but that isn't what I'm trying to get at here.

I'm trying to say, what if you slapped a 2.4" pulley on the (h)eaton, good cooling mods, 3" exhaust/header, possibly even a ported head, e85 fuel and rpm cutoff at say 6000 or whatever the best range for it is.

we know our blowers move air well, but the IAT's get at us which make it not as efficient. I'm saying it would be a good experiment.

im not gonna bash you for small pulley, heck im on 2.7 and would be smaller if it wernt for the fact that i have to pull gm stg 2 hub for its maxed out. Ive spent 6hrs of dyno time so far on just timming and meth for this pulley and made 287whp. I will be dropping to a 2.6 or 2.5 but I will not keep the 7200 cutoff for its not showing me in the graphs its needed. max for me will be 6800 tops.

yes heat is a factor but when u overspin ur blower it means the the rotors are spinning so fast that they cant cup any air because each rotor is in a way...drafting behind the rotor in front of it

honeslty if you were to try that and get good results, id send the blower out to stiegmier for a front end rebuild and upgrade. nate does make them the small to, I asked lol

I'm glad you know where I'm coming from. I want to try this sooo bad. I know they probably have some internal upgrades for the blower such as the coupler ect.. I mean if you pulley down that low and PORT/POLISH the blower you can only imagine the gains at lower rpms.

You need to read between the lines, over spinning the blower is not the issue here. Your missing the BIG picture
