Get a magnaflow 4 or 5" round muffler.I had one on my old car and it gave the car a nice deep tone.I dont know how much room we have under the car,but put the biggest muffler that will fit under there. You can find them on ebay for pretty cheap and free shipping.

However a glass pack, or cherry bomb is the exact same thing and much cheaper. If you go to your local shop you can get a massive resonator + install, for like 50 bucks total. Thats what mine was =D.

Its all personal preference.Id go with the muffler that has the most packing inside so it absorbs the raspyness.I think a magnaflow will sound better. When i replaced my muffler with a magnaflow,it sounded good. What do you think the car would sound like if i replaced the muffler with a cherry bomb or a glasspack?Im pretty sure it will sound like ****.If he wants to go the cheaper route thats fine.Just make sure the glasspack/cherry bomb isnt the louvered type.

Reverse the glasspack. Gets rid of the Honda buzz after 3000 rpm the gm sport exhaust has. I still use the borla muffler it came with

Can you explain this reverse glasspack?Theres no in/out on straight through mufflers. If a muffler has to be reversed to alter the tone, thats telling me its not a straight through design.Correct me if im wrong.Do you have a link to this muffler?

i was actually looking at that one before but couldn't find if the 2.5" was in inside or the outside diameter for the inlet, outlet piping.

The inlet/outlet is 2.5" and the core is also 2.5"

ptrblkz24 - you are getting the wrong idea.

What I am saying EXsoccer1921 should do is get a RESONATOR. Not replace his muffler. I am saying he should run the resonator AND a muffler. There is a difference between the two.

I am currently running a header/downpipe 3 inch inlet/exit with a magnaflow cat, custom 3 inch exhaust with a 36inch glasspack/cherry bomb resonator, with a magnaflow muffler.

This has been one of the best exhausts on the 'balts that I have ever heard! The resonator+muffler takes all the rasp away and leaves a deep tone and rumble of a sorts to it. There is more engine sound at higher rpms then annoying raspy exhaust.

I also was going to grab the magnaflow resonator until I looked into the inside of it and looked in the inside of a glasspack/cherry bomb. They are all the same basically.

a resonator and a muffler are the same thing, just a different name and shape. magnaflow doesnt call their resonators, resonators, they call them all mufflers.

Vibrant, uses "through straight through" technology, no baffle, 18'' and cylindrical
2.5'' on both sides

Made my Magnaflow custom catback sound real nice and deep (was very loud before)

Got it off e-bay for cheap

well this is getting off topic. all i need is a resonator with a 2.5" INSIDE DIAMETER for both the inlet and outlet. and i need it to be atleast 16" long and 4" diameter for the chamber itself. so far, the only one i like is the magnaflow one that i had previously looked at. anyone else have one they'ld like to recomend?

oh and i'm not getting vibrant

honestly, go to a muffler shop...

The guy put one in thats about 18 inches long for 65 bucks (thats the resonator AND having it welded in)

It would have been 45-55 if didnt have some other work done while i was there aswell..

Glasspacks and cherry bombs use straight through technology. However it has holes to go to the glass insulation to help dampen the sound. Vibrant header + dp with a gmpp exhaust was too loud so i got 2 resonators welded together....reversed.

those holes if you look at them from the inlet or the outlet are beveled to either baffle or amplify. I chose to baffle it like a muffler.

I deleted the gmpp resonator and destroyed the rasp after 3,000 rpm i got.

Cut open a muffler, and look inside of it. Then look "through" a resonator. There is a decent amount of difference. And using the resonator with the muffler works out great, takes all the rasp away at 3k.

I know bro, it sounds sooooo good over all. I absolutely love it. Plus the welds the guy did for the custom 3 inch exhaust, are just sick. Everyone points that out when its on the lift.
