Iat2
Iat2
Well I had the stu mod for a while now and was not seeing good temperatures(130-140) on a warm day just daily driving. I assume it was air in the lines but I tried many times to get all the air out. So i switched back to stock and now on a warm days im seeing 90's - 108, just driving not getting on it. I feel like I can get better temps still with a different setup. Anyone have other options for IAT2 temps other than dual pass, and heat exchanger, like a new kind of coolant tank or something?

did you run a bleeder line from the top of your stock heat exchanger to the tank? be sure to put a restrictor in it.
Just wondering. That would allow it to constantly bleed the system of air.

Heard by reading etc that option b doesn't do much at all. Dual pass works and stronger h/e works. I guess something like the zzp s3 h/e. If you really want good temps, probably just got with meth and some other cooling mods to help sustain the temp
This site is in need of a revamp to be honest. Yet one it will never get.
you think all I do is lurk? lmao. Guess you don't see the running threads down in the racing section and the fact that I actually have a cobalt still. I constantly answer questions/help people in pm's, and I still communicate with a bunch of friends through this site.

But this thread is not about...how annoying it is to answer already answered or talked about topics. It is a cobalt only site so you will get a lot of the same stuff. I have searched and nothing came up answering my questions. So......
I would like to see pics of setups.
I'll search my photobucket tonight. I'm on the other side of the world from my cobalt, so it's not like I can go out and snap some snazzy pics for you. But I'm pretty sure I have pics on my photobucket.

Option B constantly bleeds the system, and makes the cooling system more efficient. I have run the Option B setup for over a year now, and seen great results from it. The people who say it doesn't work are the ones who installed it wrong. You would be surprised how many people mess up the simple installation.

Option B is a reservoir that keeps the coolant full in the system. All i did was drill/ tap the otion b tank, add a bung. Plastic weld it in. Run the hoses slightly different. Ill take a pic of my set up, but my ***** dirty. Gimme a minute.

Notice how the Filler neck is gone.

damn i cant think of it right now but there is a company Vulcan i think that makes a metal option b tank big enough so instead of two coolant tanks, its only one and says you can put ice in there.
searched for 10 mins and gave up... there is one though that says u can put ice in and big enough so u can run one tank. ottp has a one but not much info on their site.
another question, where are you seeing temps at 140 and stuff. is this for the manifold temp? on my DIC, at the end it tells coolant temp. mine says like 190... im probably think of something totally diff than iat. thinking about abbrevations, iat mean Intake Air Temps??
