IAT2 Post-supercharger general readings

I have spent some time searching on this site and around google trying to find some decent information on general IAT2 temperatures but didn't have a lot of luck. As long as you are still supercharged I think it would be interesting to put together a thread here to post general IAT information to see how it varies with different configurations. I will start.

Supercharger: TVS 1320 (2.9" pulley)

Cooling mods:
-S3 ZZP h/e ONLY
- Dual-pass end plate
- Opt. B
- 6 g.p.h. 50/50 water/methanol injection right behind TB
- Phenolic spacer

Conditions:
-48F ambient
- haven't checked IAT1 at MAF

Of course when I first start the car the IAT2 is near ambient. After the car is fully warmed up and has allowed to heat soak for a bit then go for a cruise my IAT2 will be 60-75F. During a 0-100mph pull basically all the way to 7,300rpm through 2nd and 3rd gear my IAT2 will hit 110-115F towards the top end of the 3rd gear pull very briefly. After the pull the temps drop back down quickly.

I haven't had a chance to average these results over time so this is only from one outing. It will be interesting to see how things perform when things heat up here in the summer. Obviously ambient temp is a huge factor and temperature differences between IAT1, IAT2, and ambient will not remain constant with different extremes in ambient temp. Temperature difference is the driving force behind heat transfer which will affect h/e efficiency as well as steady state operating temperatures.

Maybe you should set your gauge up for IAT1 and use the MAF IAT on the TMAP so you have a smooth and recordable iat2 signal. I know you were saying the gauge is kind of erratic.

I'm on a stock pulley M62. Factory exchanger with front mount exchanger, dual pass, option b, phenolic spacer

Typically my IAT1 is 2* above ambient and my cruising fully warm engine IAT2 is 7* above IAT1. Though I have had instances where my IAT2 is 3* above IAT1. That seems isolated to really really good weather days.

So for example 68* ambient would give me 70* IAT1 and my cruising IAT2 would be 77-79

A 2nd thru 3rd gear pull will get my IAT2 to climb 25* give or take a couple putting me around 103-107* with rapid drop of temps after.

I have fixed that. I was sharing power source with other things that were causing heavy interference. I now have it set up with a clean power source and the readings are now very smooth/constant and should be more accurate and update faster than a stock temperature sensor because it is a standalone unit made for precise measurements and is specified to be within a degree of accuracy. Here is a link to what I am using.

My gauge is set up just how I need it. I only have Trifecta as an option for tuning and they use magic to make up for lack of IAT2 sensor which is why I have standalone unit so I can keep an eye one it. I don't think Trifecta would reconfigure the ECU for IAT2 readings if I did the swap from the MAF and doing that won't do any good unless the tune is adjusted to account for it. I would think this would be a completely different method than the way they have it configured now.

From this thread I am just trying to get a general idea of what people's general IAT2 temps are.

In the heat of the summer. Iat1 will be 95 to 100 and iat2 will be 120 cruising. Climb up to 165 by the end of 3rd gear or 100ish mph

This is on a stock cooled 2.8" pulley. No knock ever. 18 deg of timing up top. Only ever run 93.

Can definitely feel the power difference between summer and winter. Never paid attention in winter. Had too much fun with it then
