IC pump replacement
IC pump replacement
Has anyone used or know if this pump is a good replacement??? Saw this posted on teh redline forums. Assuming since listed as a ford replacement which we use the same pump, it would work. It's way cheaper and brushless, no worries of brushes wearing out and destroying the motor.

so would this pump be a good buy for only 50$
and the stock pump is only 317gph the cx is 480gph seems to move more fluid for better cooling

You get what you pay for.then again, If you dont mind the possibility of losing the cash,it may also end working great.
i have the cx heat exchanger and personally i love it.. by all means i do not abuse my car at all like neglect it but my h/e has seen her fair share of gravel bottom outs and still holds up great. they are also like 2mph bottoms outs but still i guess ill be a guinee pig on this one as my stock pump stoped working i believe like a week ago so no boost for me till i get a new one
if you're pump isnt working, its not cycling fluid through the intake manifold to cool the air charge going into the motor. your intake air temps will sky rocket under boost, the ecu will begin to pull timing when it gets too hot, 212°F i believe, to protect itself, and if left unchecked it could cause premature wear and piston/ringland failure. i believe those are the most common points of failure. if it isnt working, make sure you stay out of boost while driving and you'll be ok.
the stock bosch pumps seem to last only 60,000 miles or so. the brushes in the motor wear out quickly. these can be replaced, but some knowledge in dealing with electric motors in needed.
I have a CX racing heat exchanger and i dont see anything wrong with it. build quality looks decent. but this is why i wanted to ask anyone if they had used this pump. @ $50 it could be a steal, but then again could end up a $50 paper weight after a day of use. think i'll go for it as soon as i hear back from them on fitment.
Your coolant temps shouldnt sky rocket.

stock i think i saw up to 140-150 after a couple pulls in mid summer.
joemaster, with the car running for at least 10 seconds, pop the hood and take the intercooler fill cap off. its the small one right in front of the supercharger. the fluid will either move up and down some or you will be able to see it moving if its working.

yeah so went to check it and noticed the bracket is broken and had to hold it straight to see if it was flowing. If i see bubbles when i move it around is that a good sign? cause my engine vibrates and idk if it's flowing it's not still but idk how fast it should be moving
u said up or down meaning should go up the tube and than down?

bubbles is a good sign. vibration really wouldnt cause bubbles, rather ripples on top of the fluid.
it may not move up or down on you. i know mine does some, but thats probably because i still have air trapped in the line somewhere.

only reason why I am concerned cause i've never had any issues with my car and it may be because I don't check on it so often I change oil at 35%-25% left in oil life as well as oil filter. And how loud should the rotors be on the supercharger (cause i hear something rotating inside) I haven't done much to it never changed the s/c oil and car is high on miles. Was planning on doing a tune up which would include plugs, tune, new belt, injectors, smaller pulley and H/E prolly a Cobra used
I don't know if I'd trust that pump. CX Racing stuff is normally decent, but I doubt it would have the longevity and quality of the stock Bosch pump. Our stock pump is used on other applications such as the Lightenings, and it has been for awhile now. ZZP tested our stock pumps and they were the best for our applications. You can get our stock pumps for $100 new or cheaper if used. I'd go with what fits best and is an easy bolt up install. With the CX Racing pump you'd need to wire it in and see how it works. Doesn't seem worth it for something that 'doesn't need fixed'.
