what size is your idler pulley? I heard that if you put on a 3 inch one you have to grind down the stock tensioner and spray paint it.

Can we see pics? I have physically done my own and i can tell you with GOD as my witness, there is NO WAY you can fit a 3" pulley w/o modifying the braket or w/o having belt alignment issues.

Just checked and got some info, the Billetflow idler is 76mm (3.04") and apparently a bunch of Redline guys are using it with no grinding and no issues. I am actually using the idler as a temp solution and waiting for an adjustable tensioner bracket.

Let me know if you can install that puppy and not have to grind anything.

Finally, the truth! Thank you !!!!!! I knew it couldn't have been a 3" pulley

70mm = 2.76"

Stock = 2.5"

Does the "2.76" inch idler pulley from billetflow make the belt slip with a 2.8 inch pulley? Or is it enough to stop the slip?

iirc you can drop to a 3" without slip. That is .31" drop. As long as 3.31-(your pulley size)-(the size in inches your idler is bigger....250" in this case)= less than .310 you should be fine.

So you should be able to go to a 2.7 with probably no slip a 2.7 yields .36. The BF pulleys are sandblasted and have proper v groove geometry so you shouldnt have any slip problems at 2.7...also any smaller and you need to machine the blower snout.

Could you use the idler pulley with the tensioner at the same time? (stupid question, my brain seems to think you can though, I mean why not?) Because I would like to do the cheap idler pulley for like 30 bucks but if the belt starts slipping, I would use the tensioner in conjunction with the idler pulley.
