Incorrect PSI

Incorrect PSI

Well today i hooked up my boost gauge and after the install i wasent very pleased becasue it was only reading 10PSI at redline the mechanical boost gauge is much more responvice.. and looks to kill So can anything tell me why im only getting 10PSI im pretty much stock besides Exhasut Intake.

never heard anything like it unless your at a high elevation, i read the higher the elevation the less boost you get. atleast thats what some of the other users were saying.

yeah, check the line...did u replace it when u did your gauge? otherwise your gauge might be off.

12.5 i think but i think now its kinda getting better iwth 11.5ish

When i get on it it zooms from vaccum to 10psi really quick then inches to 12psi . i have 10,000 miles on my car

Run in third gear. I think boost is restricted in 1st and 2nd gear. It should reach about 12 Psi just before redline in third gear.

Actually I think it's the other way around, stock the computer actually partially opens the bypass valve as you approach redline in order to bleed off boost, if you stomp on it you should be getting your full 12.5 psi around 4500 RPM and then it will bleed back down around redling. This is the reason why stage one can get a 31 hp gain without increasing boost, it just stops that bypass valve from opening and adds 500 rpm to the powerband.

Yes the car will bleed boost but not when wot. The computer responds to engine load and throttle position. If you keep going up in rpm, but aren't on the throttle enough the car will bleed boost. The needle stock should peg 10 then build like said before.
