Some people have issues, some don't.

I'd get one.

Personal preference. I didn't have one for the first few months I had my Injen but then I thought about it and spending the $30 or whatever to potentially save however many thousands of damage made a lot of sense. It's one of those things that hopefully you'll never 'need' but it's there if you do.

there is no reason not to spend the 20 dollars for it. Because if you do get water, you will regret it.

wrong

a splash will draw water across your MAF causing false readings that lead to bogging and jerking, water in your intake, and surface rust/possible destruction of your MAF

I found this out the hard way, I'm glad I can drive my car when it rains now..

sorry RED my intake has been splashed many times..... and i have zero effects............ the only way i would ever use a hydro shield is if i had the aem dryflow filter... as its dry, and not oiled, so cant repel water the way oiled ones can.
