Thumbs up Installed My FX400 and Fidanza Flywheel.

Had my Clutchmasters FX400 Stage 4 Ceramic race clutch (6-puck) and Fidanze Aluminum Flywheel Installed on Friday.

Clutch is pretty grabby , takes some getting used to.

Engine Revs really really really quickly in neutral, goes to redline instantaneously.

Clutch engages like an inch and 1/2 from the floor. Does this sound right? Im not sure If it is suppossed to be like that. I cant remember where the stock clutch engaged, It was so glazed that it wouldnt move the car untill it was all the way out lol.

So yeah, So far I am very happy with the clutch and flywheel combo, Feels really strong. Some people might not like how grabby it is, and they should go with the FX300. But I am hard on my car and I bought it to to drive it hard and race at the track alot so yeah....

Off Topic: I am having a very noticable vibration while turning left. Not sure whats causing it yet, I had a left turn vibration b4 the clutch/flywheel install, but now it is alot more noticable. I think It might be the bracket on my Ingalls damper so I will have to **** around with it. Anyone else have this?

my buddy had an aftermarket clutch installed on his car and it caught extremely low also, i believe this is just the way it is. maybe its so the strong clutch grips better (with a stronger pressure plate, hence the low grab). just remember to break it in first!

Jekyl, do you have any squeal noises at all. If not congrats on the new clutch. I like how the clutch graps almost instantly.

6.7 hours install time at a GM dealership. So times that by what your local dealer's hourly rate is.

Cost me $750 for installation including taxes.

Edit: I also had an oil change done..... that is included in above price.

Its not really a Daily driver. I work in the oilfield and have my own company truck. I only drive my car whenever I am in town which is only about 60 days a year. And When I am in town, I drive my car hard and I take it to the track so thats why I went with a heavy duty clutch.

Also, I paid 750 canadian funds for my installation + oilchange = taxes. Other dealerships tried quoting me 800-1100 for install, I basically told them to go **** themselves.

Hurry up and break that thing in. I hope you get to shift fast because I certainly couldn't, but I also have other problems to work out.

Haha no. I only have 150 km on he new clutch, I need to break it in for atleast 500 MILES.

I have only gone wot a couple times.... and I can make really quick shifts in the lower rpm range. I havent gone above 5500 rpm though. I want to wait untill its broken in before I drive it hard.

(Note: That left turn vibration turned out to be the bracket for my ingalls engine damper, and i fixed it.)

Definately take your time breaking it in. I just want to know when you do break it in if you can shift quickly, and not like a Mack Truck like mine was!

You want to know something funny?? Centerforce doesn't mention anything about break-in! We installed one in a mustang in place of failed Spec3+ number 2. He drove it hard right out of the shop and it worked great!!! They say a cutch will work and should work from the time it is installed. I am seeing some serious issues right now with mine so i'l be calling spec tomorrow.

I have a Centerforce Dual Friction on my Mustang and I never "broke it in", and it is awesome .
