I've seen it explained a few times in large detail but basically it's shifting quickly while not taking your foot off the gas pedal.

It's kind of impractical you could say for driving anywhere that there are stop lights. not to mention how much people complain about wheel spin and hop in these forums. getting an extremely stiff clutch isn't going to help that much.

It can easily be done...

You need a clutch that is going to hold up to high performance driving and not give out on you like the stock clutch. And I am going to be driving in Houston rush hour daily with many stop lights and lots of stop and go traffic, if you care about the performance of you car you will make sacrifices on comfort during every day driving. But that is just my opinion.

Im going with the FX300 my self. Im not going to make enuff power to need the FX400.

Im only plaining on making about 300hp. And I dont race it much at all.

Cant wait to here what you think of it after you start ripping on it.

On a side not I never borke the clutch in in my old cavy and it lasted 100K+ with no problems. Still looked new when I replaced it. I blew the motor in it would be stupid to have left a clutch with over 100k on it in the car after puting a new motor.

the whole idea is that the stage 4 holds 170% over stock which would be about 500tq

now why the hell would you want something that would hold so much torque on a cobalt that will most likely never get over 300tq? totally useless and the pedal will be much stiffer, it will wear out faster under normal driving conditions and it's a waste of money.

just because a clutch holds more torque, doesn't make it better.

This is where you are wrong. The stage-4 clutch was cheaper than the stage 3 at the time I purchased it although I dont know why.

The fx400 holds UP TO 170%. I went with it becuase it i a clutch that can handle burnouts in the water box, launches on slicks and DRs, and hard fast shifts for a long period. It is made from a ceramic composite where as the fx300 is made from only a kevlar compound.

I will admit though, the fx400 isnt for someone who is a daily driver and only races occasionally. But I race my car more than I daily drive it (i have a company truck) so I went full-out.

actually this is where you would be wrong. this text is quoted from their website:

FX400 (Stage IV)

· Ultra heavy-duty street &racing system
· Holding capacity 170% over stock
· Heavy-Duty reinforced pressure plate
· Hi-Leverage™ pressure ring design
· Sprung hub/4-button
· Ceramic friction material
· SFI Approved on most race applications.
you can see how it says OVER STOCK, unless stock is 0ft/lb tq lol but whatever, it's not on my car
