do you think you could just use the stock air intake take off the air box & put a cone filter on it instead of buying a new intake? has anybody done this? will it make the supercharger still whine louder?

 

search the air box mod. Many people have done it

 

Stock intake is great. Airbox mod is a nice way to get more sound without having to retune your MAF.

 

getting an intake is still a better option. but what you mentioned is still better than stock. the problem with the stock intakes isn't just the filter. its the part of the intake tube where during a bend it nearly closes itself off. basically killing the air flow.
