Intake,Broken underpiece

intake gets wet due to broken underplastic. What do i do to keep it from getting soaked? any ideas? cant be more than a 4' sqaure opening. Can my engine be damaged from a wet intake. Not soaked.

It's going to get wet in there no matter what, trust me.

Aside from sealing all openings at the bottom, front, side, and back of the well - leaving only the top open - it will be exposed to a ton of water.

I tried to run an AEM for so long, and it just wouldn't work out..

Buy the new lining piece so your filter won't get wet???

And how are people having problems with this? The filter that comes with the ZZP intake is MASSIVE and WAY bigger than any other filter for any other intake available for the LSJ, and I have never had a problem once.

where could i get the new lining peice Chevy dealership? plus i had some extra plastic **** i ended up Zip tieing the bottom to cover. For some odd reason the Plastic underneath the Filter broke off and dissapeared prolly on the highway. All the Plastic Plugs/Clips busted. GM is so cheap

Another issue is the Inside wheelwell sticks out prolly cause some Plastic clips are missing and now when I turn the wheel all the way to the right and move the wheel rubs and sounds like ****, I tried to mess with the Intake to see if that was pushing it out but it's the whole plastic cover that is sticking out. anyone ever drill new holes and bolt it back to the frame?

Yeah if you go to a dealership and explain to them they can find the piece guaranteed. Then grab the part # from them and order it on GM Parts Direct: Your direct source for Genuine GM Parts and enjoy your discounted price. You can order the plastic clips also (Do the same thing, go to the dealer and get the part #). I had this problem when I first got my car, so I ordered a ton of them. Don't drill holes, just note how many clips you are missing and order them.

I had the same problem. This is where I ordered my parts from:
Engine Splash Shield (underneath car)
Fender Liner
Plastic Clips

I know from experience that these prices are cheaper than what you will get from the dealership!!

AT LEAST!! I probably broke every original, factory installed clip just because all the dirt and crud made it impossible to pull the middle up without pulling out the entire clip and therefore breaking it.

Yep lol! Most of the time I just rip them out with pliers and throw them away. They never hold like they do when they are new anyway.
