The Injen is 2.75".

They do not rub when installed correctly. There are 2 versions of the Injen intake. V1 used to have poor fitment. The revised injen (V2) fits perfectly. I have it on my 07', and it works great.

but i would go with ZZP's new version of their 3" intake. It's a one piece design & should clear the break lines on 07's. Not that matters to you since you have an 05'.

Had both injen and zzp 3 inch. More than one person noticed a difference in my car when i added the zzp. Some people say nothing changed for them so this is from my personal experience.

The two ends might be 2.75h but it comes down to a 2.5 in the center

No it does not.

The center portion is 2.75" o.d. The portion at the MAF housing is 3". The inlet is 2.75" o.d.

I measured mine the day I installed it, because I was sick of the bogus claims on its true dimensions.

Ever since ZZP posted that the Injen is 2.5" on their website people have believed them. It is not true.

Yeah i never measure it but there is a obvious difference in how much bigger the zzp 3 is over the injen. Had them laying side by side but never measure either. I felt a good difference in my 5.5 to 7k range with this intake on which was a big difference over the injen.

I had two 3" intakes in the past (XTC & Rebel). Never felt a difference from them vs. my AEM or Injen intake. All cars respond differently though. The ZZP 3" intake may have made a difference for you. I cant say it didnt. I'm just stating reviews from my own personal experience/testing with different intakes.

P.S. a 1/4" difference in diameter is def noticable. Note the difference in the MAF housing area vs. the rest of the piping, and again at the rubber elbow. That's 3" vs. 2.75".

They dont sell the first version anymore man.

All of the injen intakes sold today are the revised second version. So you will be ok.
