more people are CEL free then people who do have CEL's.

I think hes refering to Injen and their MR technology, which is suppose to keep you from running lean, and in theory keep you from getting a cel.

I got my first CEL after about 300 miles. It then went off after about another 100 miles, and hasn't been back on for over 1000 miles.

Get whatever intake you want...they are all pretty good imo...the blower whine is incredible.

I bought a JBP Vortex CAI and have not gotten a CEL since I installed it. It is loud, gave me a 13HP gain, and gives me better fuel economy!! Its worth the money, and they are right about no CEL!!

my advice is to just not buy a Fujita CAI.. I bought 1 and I had horrible fitment issues.. even the performance shop did..a nd had to customize **** to fit it without rubing my wheel.. and the scream sounds amazing after install but then seems to fade away a lot.. and I got a CEL like 20 mintues later and tryed to reset and came back on anotehr 30 mintues later.. and Im sure you can deffinetly find a lot better intake for the money..

J-Body Performance

http://www.jbodyperformance.com/new/newIndex.php

Click on Cobalt and then from there youll find it.

There is a shop in Arlington, where I live, Alamo Autosports, that has a dyno. I do have the dyno graph, and will post it when I get home from work.

OK, since we're on the topic of intakes, I'm definitely considering one but I'm concerned with winter driving and slush and all that crap getting up in there. Anyone else have problems with this. I know it's a concern in areas where you get a lot of bad winter driving. (A beater is out of the question...I have no room for two cars and storage isn't practical.)

Anyone have any problems with theirs? I do a lot of nasty winter driving but I really don't want to be swapping out between stock and CAI every winter/spring but I guess if I have to do that I have to do that.

With the JBP, J-Body Peformance, Vortex CAI, I found a place online that makes custom covers for them. Basically it covers the bottom of the filter, as to no water, "slush" or harmful things happen to get in... only letting the air in at the top. It makes the "whine" a little dampened, but not much.

Nice, I might have to look into this. I'm trying to get some performance stuff before auto-x/road course season gets cranked up in the spring. If I had to I would be willing to swap them out for winter, but I'd really rather not. I guess with the cover you could just take the cover off when you don't need it.

The wheel well shroud basically does that. You are seriously going to have to put your car into standing water to pull water into the intake. I was just driving in a wintery mix today and I was fine with the K&N. However nothing is going to be as bullet proof as the stock air box.

As for the other question about CEL, I get them ALL the time with my K&N. My long term fuel trim hits 20 and the light goes on. I have double checked all my connections ect, but I can't find a way to keep it from happening. I am not too worried about it. I just clear it with my scanner if it comes on.

^^^ NO ^^^ hehe. Man, this intake is really amazing. I mean, I cant put to much "life" into the CAI but DAMN! Lol. Today, haha, I had a guy in a 240 near my work. 1/2 green on bottom and then black on top. He always makes fun of my car, saying... "Its just a Cavy on steroids." And, I was like, "yeah, so what... lets go, and ill show you." So finally today we did! Hahahahaha... wow... I shut him up bad. Beat him by 3 cars.

But yea, Ill show you all on Saturday, its ******* niceeeeee!!

Exclamation

I Am also considering purchasing a CAI.
I have some Extra/X-mas money saved up and am looking to make a few purchases.
I already have 700 bucks set aside for rims and slicks.

I have been doing some research on all the intakes out there, and am trying to figure out whats the best one. What the HP gains are for each, and if purchased, whats will the probability of throwing a CEL be?

Here is what i have so far, Please help me figure this information out, and im pretty sure this will help a lot of other people out also.

Also, if i missed any intakes, please add to this list.
If you have any info or links to add, please help.
