interceptor data help?

I was wondering what parameters you all monitor? I really dont know what any data on the gauge means or whats a good number. I have my IAT2 temp on there and its between 100-114. Whats good numbers for long term fuel trim and short term? Any info on any data will be great. I have duel interceptors, wideband, oil pressure, boost, water, and volts.

Something else which could be good is "knock retard". If you see some values above 0 during a pull, this is usually not good. This means in that case that your engine remove some timing because it detects that your engine is knocking. A very usefull function if you want to add more timing in the goal of having more power with a new tune.

You can choose also to display "misfires". Having lots of misfires isnt very good too, but having some, sometimes, is very acceptable.

IAT2s like you said is a good thing to monitor during back to back pulls for example.

Hmm... I don't have any more ideas, you have a lot of gauges already Oh, you can watch also "engine load", this tells you how hard your engine is working, in %. And also if you have a smaller pulley with 42 lbs injectors, such as the 2.8" one, this is great to observe "IDC" which stands for Injector Duty Cycle in order to know how hard your injectors are working during pulls. Older Interceptor gauge don't have this feature but the newest one with the newest firmware have it. If you don't have it you can watch instead "Injector pulse width" or "pulse width" and use this formula: Idc (%) = Ipw*rpm/1200 to know what is the IDC.

thanks. whats a high temp for iat2? Well my knock retard is high, its up around the 30. i did find a post which has all the parameters listed. so i put in all of them just to see them. i think that the list is old but it gets me started. i just got the interceptor's on the recent group buy. However i would love for some one to tell me what is a good or bad value.

22. O2 SENSOR B1S2-O2 bank 1 sensor 2 in millivolts
23. O2 SENSOR B2S2-O2 bank 2 sensor 2 in millivolts
24. RUN TIME MINS- engine run time is tenths of seconds since last engine start
25. BATTERY VOLTAGE- Alternator/battery output voltage
26. CURRENT GEAR- The current gear of an automatic transmission.
27. PULSE WIDTH B1-injector Pulse Width for bank 1 (8 cylinder engines)
28. PULSE WIDTH B2-injector Pulse Width for bank 2 (8 cylinder engines)
29. INJECTOR DUTY CYCLE- 0-100%
30. ENGINE LOAD- calculated Engine Load (0-100%)
31. ENGINE OIL PRESSURE (not supported by all vehicles)
32. ENGINE OIL TEMPERATURE – Engine oil temp.
33. INTAKE AIR 2 – Intake Air Temp. downstream of intercooler (some supercharged applications such
as the Cobalt SS, Solstice GTP, Saturn Sky).
34. TOTAL MISFIRES- Total misfires of all cylinders. Resets every minute
35. Miles Per Gallon 1- instantaneous fuel economy for gas vehicles
36. BAROMETRIC PRESSURE- Displays atmospheric pressure. All vehicles may not support this.

Converter Clutch
46. FUEL STATUS – Displays “Open” or “Closed” to indicate open or closed loop fueling.
47. FUEL LEVEL – Gallons of fuel remaining in tank.
48. Cat Temp1 – Calculated catalytic converter #1 temperature (calc’ed by the car’s PCM)
49. Cat Temp2 – Calculated catalytic converter #2 temperature (calc’ed by the car’s PCM)
48. Analog 1 – analog input #1
49. Analog 2 – analog input #2
50. COMMANDED A/F – Commanded air/fuel ratio by PCM.
51. COMMANDED LAMBDA – Commanded Lambda (a different way of measuring A/F ratio. Lambda
= 14.7/actual A/F ratio. Therefore a value greater than 1 is “rich”, less is “lean”.
52. LAMBDA – Actual Lambda (only available on vehicles with factory wideband sensor)
53. A/F RATIO – Actual A/F ratio (only available on vehicles with factory wideband sensor)
54. SENSOR CURRENT – Current draw of wideband O2 sensor (only available on vehicles with factory
wideband sensor)
55. TRANS TEMP 2 – Transmission Temperature for late model Cadillac
56. TC SLP SPD RPM 2– Torque converter slip (RPM) (auto trans) late model Cadillac
57. TCC STATUS 2 – Indicates “UL” or “L” (unlocked /locked) depending on the state of the Torque

MAF LB/M is a cool one to watch also, I have one aeroforce so I watch IAT2 ALWAYS and have boost as the other because its quite nice. A/F ratio is also one that you should have if you got the extra space. Normal IAT 2 temps for me are around 20 above the outside temp on the highway (with GM stage 2). temps above 140 is kinda geting hot and the worst I have ever gotten it was 160 sitting in traffic at a cruse.

I just find it cool to see how much air you are pushing lol. I pretty much never have it on but thought it was a cool option.

Not a good thing!!! The value of 30, is this while you are accelerating at WOT for example? If yes, this is A LOT and you have to definitively find a tuner for working on that issue, as this is not good at all. How are your IAT2s?? If they are above 160 often, maybe your intercooler pump is not working anymore and the PCM pulls timing like crazy to protect your engine!

I think he means his ignition advance is around 30* while cruising lol

I moniter IAT2 and Knock retard. Sometime other random ones if I'm bored in traffic

I have to monitor Knock Retard 3,
If I look at Knock Retard 1, or 2, I get the value of the previous selected paramater,
then the gauge freaks out and reboots.
