Intercooler End plate Dual Pass

Ok for those that want em!

Go get em! CED has 4 available!

And the instructions ARE AWESOME! You wont believe what you will be able to do...

GM has instructions to use a Surge tank off a Redline ion to increase our capacity and we can use a 15lb Aftercooler cap to make the system HP and pressureized even MORE!

ENJOY!

What do you mean by retune? can you run more timing with this setup?

Don't know what you would "retune".

It keeps your intake temps down so your pcm won't pull timing due to heat soak.

Ok, but the engine will only add a certain amount of timing. You will be able to add more timing after this is done.

Sweetness. Is this the Dual Pass that will be included in the Stage 3 upgrade?

yes it is.
4-banger did you do anything with the laminova cores?
Also remember these are new GM parts with the mods done so you can keep your stockers, plus the awesome instructions, which I am not posting

I have to say I am VERY impressed with what GM did with these and the instructions

Sure did. You have to flip the (counting from the bottow) #3 and #4 cores. Make them looks like this.

They are two different things. One is just an add on heat exchanger, the other is a modification to the cooling path in the intercooler.

think of it like this, stock...cooled water enters the Intercooler from the heat exchanger and passes thru the 4 laminova cores and then exits, warm. By the time the cooled water gets to the 3rd and 4th core its pretty warm already and then absorbs only some heat from the last 2.

With a dual pass the cooled water enters the intercooler and is split into two paths each path cooling only 2 cores, so the water stays cooler and keeps the IC charge cooler by benefit of the less path the water must take before it goes back to the heat exchanger to be cooled

well im still not understanding what this does, and im trying to figure it out because my first mod will likely be some sort of heat exchanger upgrade, and so far the best setup ive seen is the cobalt addiction one, so can this be used in conjunction with that?

Some sort of heat exchanger upgrade is recommended for people running a 2.8" pulley or smaller. When you get down to pulleys smaller than 2.7" you'll want to either do the dual pass IC mod, or get water meth injection.

It looks like GM's suggestion to use the coolant recovery bottle came right from the Cobalt Cup cars.
