Intercooler Water Sprayer

Hey guys, sorry if this has been discussed, but I was browsing the web while CSS.net was updating, and I came across this water sprayer controller:
http://www.nipponpower.com/product.p...l%3C%2Fa%3E%29

Cusco Water Spray Controller allows the user to set specific intervals and rpm levels for the water sprayer to turn on and off. Whether you want a continuous spray for 30 seconds, an interval of one spray every 7 seconds, or a combination of different numbers, this controller has it covered to keep your intercooler temperatures down to a minimum. Other settings include continous spray for a period of 15 seconds to 3 minutes maximum, as well as during a certain RPM wished. Keeps excessive heating down and allows continuous driving runs with power.

What do you guys think of this? How will it work? And also, what else will I need to buy, and where could I get it? Thanks for the help. I'm kinda new to this specific stuff.

It won't do a whole lot. Save your money. That is for cars that have air-to-air intercoolers. We have a water-to-air intercooler. Our intercooler is actually located under the supercharger, and is not exposed at all, so there is no way to spray it.

You could spray the heat exchanger, but it won't do much. Your money is better spent elsewhere.

yeah those things work a small bit with extremely high temps. most people that use them also spray with c02 so they can ice over the ic (aka snowflaking), that will give you a longer effect w/o using up so much c02.

Spraying water on the heat exchanger isn't going to be able to produce much of a difference in IAT's. Maybe a degree or two but that is about it

what you are thinking of is the heat exchanger. It's like a radiator for the intercooler fluid. Just a mist of water on the heat exchanger won't do much for intake temps. The change in coolant temps will be very minor, and by the time the coolant makes it back to the intercooler, it basically will have made no difference.
