Hey guys, just wondering if anybody knows what could cause this. I will be driving at highway speeds(60MPH) with cruise on and my "brake" warning light will pop on for no reason. It is very intermittent and hasn't happened recently till tonight. If anybody has info on this please let me know. Thanks.

 

pop the console off and check the switch on the ebrake. mine did that when the parking brake cables needed adjusted

 

also check ur brake fuild mine was giving that when my rear caliper was leaking :x make sure ur not low on that or u would be in soooo mucho trouble

 

This happened to me as well.

Condition
Some customers may comment that the brake system warning light comes on intermittently. The brake light will illuminate for 2 to 3 seconds, then will turn off and may never illuminate again. The vehicle should exhibit no braking concerns at all.

Correction
Important: Programming the IPC must be done PASS-THRU ONLY.

Inspect the brake fluid level and the operation of the parking brake signal switch. If normal, technicians are to reprogram the IPC with an updated software calibration. This new service calibration was released with TIS satellite data update version 6.5 available June 13, 2005. As always, make sure your Tech 2Ž is updated with the latest software version.

The customer should be thoroughly questioned to determine if a warning chime accompanies the brake system warning light, and if the BRAKE FLUID or PARKING BRAKE messages are displayed on the DIC when the condition occurs. The condition being discussed does not include any DIC message or warning chime. If the customer reports hearing the warning chime or the DIC messages, then further diagnosis is needed, searching for unwanted inputs from the parking brake switch signal or brake fluid switch signal.

mine has been doing that now for a while, but now its staying on... the dash say "brake fluid"

 

check ur brake fluid maybe

 

lol the other guy's problem is obvious.

But thanks for that reprogram post. That's most likely my problem. Just need a reprogram. Cuz the parking brake works right and the light comes on when it should and brake fluid level is fine.

 

As long as it doesnt say "FUEL RAN BRAKE"

 

Mine has been coming on/off since I've gotten the car, I've known about the problem but didnt know there was a fix for it, although it hasnt come on for some time now so I'm not to worried about it.
