Ordered cams finally!!!

got on the phone with bates engineering today, and asked ray if he had any cams left over. He told me he had a cam that was gonna be gm stg 4 kit, but when gm ran into financial issues they discarded the project. They are fully developed, but where being durability tested. The specs on the cams as he told me is 243/240 @.050 (actual would be somewhere around 230ish) and lift was .440.... ordered them today, should be here next week... got them for a killer price also..

the problem isnt the specs for the vendors. its getting the blank cams with the camshaft position sensor hex on it already.

I know it's gonna be a nightmare to tune... But I've tuned cammed and blown lq9 and has come out running hard so should not be a problem... I'm also tuning now a turbo lq4 in an s10.... Gonna post pics maybe this weekend

243/240 at .050" on a 2 liter? Those sound like 11,000 RPM cams.

We aren't having any issues with the hex timing since we started setting them up in-house.

I think actual would be closer to 250.

Depending on what he means by actual. If they are 243/240 at .050", then they would be up around 250 at 1mm as GM often measures. Seat to seat would be around 300 degrees.

I'm sorry I said it incorrectly.... The advertised was 240-243 and actual (@.050) would be about 230ish.... I think it's coming with the spec sheet so I will post a pic as soon as I get it... I don't remember the lsa bu I think it was like 111.... Gotta wait to post spec sheet

I don't think the LSA is that narrow considering the intake bias. The exhaust valve opening is usually pushed back more so than closing earlier. It makes the LSA look narrow, but the overlap is not terrible. I still wouldn't run them with an M62.

Cams are here!!

heres a pick of the cams... he forgot to send the spec sheet.... he said he will email me the specs.... here are some pics...

the lsa is not that bad.... i spoke with him and he told me it was 112 lsa..... What about these sr20det that are running the 272 cams with WAY MORE duration?? it works great for them, i know it is a turbo setup, but still... These should work fine.... i hope... The GMR cams if im not mistaken have an lsa of 109... you can change that with adjustable cam gears, but if you dont thats how they come setup
