Invalid authorisation code

Invalid authorisation code

Hi I bought a stage kit "Stage 2" from a GM dealer .I went to an other GM dealer to have the kit installed and after the installation the tech guy called and he was told the authoriation code was invalid?? This kit was brand new
Any idea???

Wow, that makes no sense. The only thing I can think of is the techs didn't register your VIN number when they did the reflash or registered the wrong VIN number. If it's off by one number or letter it will come back invalid. Tell them to double check the VIN they registered. Chances are that's the problem. They made a mistake on one number or letter and the system doesn't recognize the incorrect VIN because it doesn't exist. Hope that helps....

Thats all I could think of other than if for some reason you have been sold a kit that the code was used on another VIN. (Hopefully just a tech error)

They fixed it

Gm called back the dealer and 3 hres after I left to give the VCI#

they tried the a 5th time and the code went (maybe the had caps lock on the first time)

i know how you feel. I talked to my service guy and he told me half an hour if I got there right at 8 and there was a problem with my authorization code as well and it took 4 hours for GM to straiten it out.
