iridium/copper spark plugs

All right, I'm an idiot on this one. What is the benefit of going with either some iridiums or copper plugs over our stock platinums? What benefits would you see and why would you need to do so?

Also what do you guys recommend? ngk iridiums? thanks

Supposedly Iridiums burn hotter, thus a better fuel burn, and less unburned fuel. In a supercharged motor, you really want to get rid of heat, so in my opinion, copper is the better way to go. Copper dissipates heat better giving less chance for KR. There is no solid proof that the iridium's do anything for power. Fast06SS actually dyno'd less with them.

I agree,

FI cars, the last thing you want is a small electrode that is capable of getting that hot.

It works like a glow plug, and increases the possibility of detonation.

IMO Copper is the best. The rest is just bullshit that you can put in your signature as

"Stage Four Sparkplug Mod with extra cool super By-Pass stuffed with a Sock Mod"

JMC007, did you ever pay Rob for your bet? I personally think the torque increase was a fluke, but it doesn't matter. I still wouldn't trust that hot of a plug in my car with boost. You'll probably agree if your temps get as hot as ours in the summer.

I replied to him with a PM saying that in my opinion, they didn't help neither they were better, so I offered him to pay half a set; never got an answer. I will PM him again.
