Just had Stage 2 installed

well guys I just had GM Stage 2 installed. It's freakin awesome. The cool part is that when I ordered it from Cobalt-Addiction, I also ordered colder plugs, and they were in the same box, so the stealership installed them and didn't notice they were with the kit! lol

Anyways, I have a couple Q's for you Stage 2 guys out there....

1 The little hose that comes off my Injen CAI is gone.... they disconnected it. Is this right?

2 Also, I don't know what they gapped my plugs at. How would the car feel if they were gapped improperly? (i already called and the tech is gone.) Thanks!

1) hose should be there

2) your car will be fast on top and low end but sluggish to get power in the mid range. need a .40 gap

Why .40? 80% of the posts I've seen and people I've talked to have said .35 is better

80% may say it but only 20% have tried other settings. The recommended gap is .40 regardless of selection of plug type from platinum to iridum plugs. NGK even recommends .40 for the cobaltss 2.0 lsj. Albeit they dont mention one step colder plugs on their list but the gap would still be the same.

well i can't upload images for some reason....but i'm sure you guys know the hose i'm talking about...it's the little black one that comes off the top of the CAI. The metal piping that comes off the CAI is about maybe 3/4" big...

also...when i touched the s/c it was pretty hot. before i thought iwas a lot cooler to the touch...maybe in paranoid... lmk please!

If I understand correctly, the SC will be hotter with a smaller pulley, it's doing much more work and therefore producing more heat.

It sounds like that hose you're talking about is the crank case breather hose. That should DEFINATELY be connected.

lol. looks like you ordered it. i wouldnt count on your spark plugs being gapped correctly since they missed that hose. although, i have been to a dealer b4 and they managed to forget that. i think it's a common thing.

no harm will really come to your engine. u just need it attached for things to be right. so dont worry there.

onimirage is correct with the .40 gapping

dude I am getting a hard on thinking about it lol...I have a stage 3...but I want a stage 2 with a 2.8 pulley so I am waiting for my stage 2 to get here so I can get it installed at the dealership...then install the 2.8 pulley myself...I kinda jumped the gun and ordered a stage 3 kit from intense before they had the PCM flash. My only problem is trying to find a place to install my stage 3 clutch and new flywheel...the town I am in sucks!
