Easiest part to install ever....


got to try out my new 1/2 drive Impact as well...made it a real breeze..


The downpipe is a really nice piece. No nasty kink where the o2 bung is.


sounds deeper at idle, and louder at cruising as well...


only 490 more miles until i can go WOT!


hopefully i can do that by april 7. (track day )

 

road trip. lol. im waiting for my header so i can install both at the same time. i cant wait. did you feel an increase in power??

 

i was told to break it in for 500miles before i floor it, so im not sure yet.

You have to break in exhaust parts?

 

You are supposed to break-in the cat. I didn't have to worry about that though. :

None sense you'll be fine! Go WOT and report back to us! BTW did you have to cut the stock downpipe off?? to get it off? also are you running a stock catback?

 

it took you half an hour?!?!? its like a five minute job haha. just kidding bro, but you will get it down to sub 10 minutes next time you gotta do it. watch your gaskets though my pipes flange connecting to the catback was installed at an angle and leaked horribly

 

well it was REALLLLY hot.. so i had to take breaks in taking it off... i was anxious and didnt wanna wait plus i was dicking around with some friends and stuff like that.



you do NOT have to hack it off... its just 5 bolts.. (3 bolts in a triangular motion where the manifold meets the DP, and 2 bolts that connect the DP to the catback) I have the GMPP touring catback installed as well.

 

This setup sounds like a perfect setup for myself. Will deff be looking into this for myself!

yeah, I didn't "break in" my exhaust parts. But someone said it was just for the cat, which my DP dosen't have anyways, lol. (I have the Cobalt Addiciton/XTC 2.5" de-cat downpipe) Congrats on the install though man, its a nice part.

 

damn, it only took yall 30 min and less. how did yall do it. i dont have a jack so i have to use the jack that came with the car. its a little difficult to take off the downpipe bolts also.

 

Go buy a jack and some jack stands man. Their not that much money.

 

Congrats dude. That downpipe will treat you well as long as you break it in properly.

It sounds like you are going to. Again congrats, wait till you get to test your new top end.

 

Is there a floor jack out there that accommodates the metal piece that sticks down on the sides of the car? or should I just put the jack behind that piece? I saw at discount tire when they put my tires on, they had these little rubber blocks that they put on the stand at the jack points, I guess that piece just absorbs the extrusion?

 

im not gonna go buy jack stands just to install the downpipe and header. i think my neighbor has some. ill check.

 

no , , he had drop in , h pipe and flowmaster mufflers , he got me by like 3 cars

 

i should be gettin the stage 2 kit and manifold installed today or tomorrow.. gonne be HARD not to floor it

i installed my DP last night.... and getting my stage 2 installed wednesday along with the extruded honed manifold

 

i read that and it doesnt mention a downpipe.
