Just installed header and dp

Well I just put on my header and dp the other day And so far I love it. I just have a couple of problems that I need to look into. Such as the 3 bolts that attatch the header to the dp, I cant get to that top bolt with any tools so I kinda just hand tightened it, which Im sure isnt enough. THe first couple of days I had a small amount of exaust coming out the front. my engine temp rises super fast when Im standing still or moving slow. I also have a cel for some reason... has anybody had a problem like this?

CEL I have heard of on those who use an aftermarket DP. Not sure if that is for all DPs though.

most likely.

if the engine temp is rising, it could be either because the header isn't coated and is a lot hotter than stock. try putting the head shield back on.

as far as the upper bolts, i dunno about the set up in your car, but in mine, with the engine cover off, i can get to it from the top, under the hood.

well it don't hurt anything if that's what it is, but you won't know it if any other codes appear because the check engine light will always be on

Its not that I csnt get to the bolt, its that the bolt is so close to the pipes that I cant get any tools around it. I tried an open face wrench but i cant fit the tool verticly to turn it because I cant get under the bolt...

But if I turn it off, will it just come back on later?

you might be throwing the CEL due to an exhaust leak PRE- o2 sensor.

you have to kinda have rubber arms to get up there (from the bottom of the car) but it can be done (to tighten the top bolt on the DP) i have done it twice on my car.. once with stock ex. manifold and the other time with a header. I used an impact and impact sockets/extenstions/swivels... maybe you can try that?

thanks guys, I will get it read as soon as I can. and I need to buy a stubby wrench still... Other than a cai, this is the only thing I have ever done to a car myself. now I know why I prefer to pay the extra cash... after this is fixed though I think it will be worth it
