Just installed the Hurst...

Well i just got done installing the Hurst shifter and WOW i love they way this thing shifts now! it definately cuts down on the gearshift travel and it feels alot more solid than the stock shifter. my reverse lockout even works (which others have had troubles with). i forgot my camera when i was doing the install or i would have taken pictures of the install. i would definately recommend this shifter to anyone in the market for one! sorry i know this is a pointless post but i'm excited. LOL

The reverse lockout actually isn't a shifter problem it's an adjustment problem. Once people adjust the cables -if needed, the shifter SHOULD be problem free.

thanks captain obvious I"m aware of that but mine worked with no adjustments at all. i was nervous about that after all the people were having so many problems with it.

OK, was just saying that the reverse lockout "issue" is nothing but operator error. Glad yours worked.

yeah the cable sucked! gettin it off was pretty easy but i couldnt get it back on. i had to get a 1 1/8 1/2 inch drive socket to stick under the cable and smack the top of the shifter to pop it on..then i couldnt get the damn socket out! but i finally did. oh well it was fun and good results came!

Thats the way I did it. It took longer to get the socket out than to install the shifter.

Question Why do these look different?

Why do these look so different from each other? Color and length?

All camera Tony. You can tell they're the same thing, just the bottom one has much more "flash" lighting than the other...

yeah. lighting and angle for the color, but the reason his looks bigger is because of the boot placement. mine is over the bottom shift lock collar while his is below it
