Question just ordered!!!

Okay so I just ordered the following from a few differnt places.

Tenzo r lowering springs
ca h/e
cf hood and trunk
3" cat-back with resonator and cat deleted.( custom)

I am wondering wat should be next? Still have plenty of cash. So I'm thinking now stage 2 from crate engine depot and a 2.9 pulley. Should I also custom tune or just stick with the stage 2 tune since I'm only going 2.9 for now.

Nice, so its going to take 4 weeks for the ca heat exchanger to get in, right? Or were you not aware of this?

I would HIGHLY recommend the following bro.

DON'T GO STAGE 2.

Grab all the cooling mods. Meth kit, Heat exchanger, and dual pass end plate with option b. This will allow you to gain all the power that you actually have, and you won't get heat soaked.

Then once that is done. Buy 60lb injectors, a 2.7inch pulley, and get a tune from a shop, or if you can tune yourself then buy hptuners.

Also, its a great idea to have gauges. For example a wideband o2 gauge, or a fuel pressure gauge, or a mechanical boost gauge, or my favorite gauge, the interceptor gauge.

Also, I would recommend putting the catalytic converter back in, but thats just my 2 cents, if you would like to know why, I will explain.

i dont care about the loudness, i can always put one in later, i have a pipe the same size with flanges on each end. so it can go back in anytime. i can tune myself a bit, but not with complete percision. so i would have to find a place to tune it. do i need a tune if i put the mods that i bought on? i didnt think the h/e would but the exhaust might. let me know if you guys know of any places that tune around 53105 burlington, wisconsin. (near milwaukee)

and also what other mods should be next? i dont want to throw a bunch of money into cooling right away if i dont need it for stage 2 and a 2.9.

Where did you buy your cf hood and trunk at? I am looking at ordering these. As for the stage 2 with the 2.9, thats what I am running now but I would not have went that way if I had it back. I am getting a custom tune and 60 pound injectors so in the end stage 2 was a waste to get.

You always need cooling. If you don't dump the money into cooling, you won't see the gain. It's like running a really long time and never being able to stop to take a drink, after awhile, you get so damn thirsty and need a refreshment. Give your engine that refreshment.

Like I said, I highly recommend NOT getting the stage 2 kit, because as soon as you get it, you will want something different, and you will need to get new injectors, a new pulley, and a new tune. So why not do it right the first time?

In my opinion, get the following if you can afford it.
Dual Pass End Plate Intercooler with Option B
Methanol Kit
Heat Exchanger
60lb injectors
2.7inch pulley
tune.

If you can get those things you will be SO happy with your car, and you will be spending LESS in the end and you will be MUCH MUCH happier. People learn the hard way by going with the ungodly rich stage 2 tune and small 42lbers.

Do it right the first time man.

Edit: Exactly stage 2 is a waste to get, i regret getting it myself, however I will be putting down some very good numbers when I next dyno, I know I am already over 250 to the wheels.

k will i see any power gains with the cooling mods right away or will the power just be greater later on? i think i will stick with h/e, exhaust, injen cai, lowering springs, ingalls, and possibly go with the interceptor and a fuel pressure gauge too. how much gain in power will i get with these mods do u think?

gauges and springs dont add power, cooling mods dont add power - however they allow you to not LOSE the power you do have. The superchargers have a huge problem getting heat soaked. Get all the cooling mods you can, you will notice a difference. Then get whatever you want, but I highly recommend cooling mods, 60lbers, 2.7inch pulley, tune.

If you go in that order you will not regret anything. You can do the springs, gauges, etc later on when you get the money. The 2 most important gauges are the interceptor and the wideband gauge.

The only reason stage 2 is a good buy is warranty , if you aren't concerned with losing it then making your own with a good tune is where the power is . Cooling is a biggie , but you will notice a decent power bump with stage 2 and a 2.9.

Just think about it this way ... ever notice when it's in the 50's at night and how hard the car pulls compared to when its 90 and humid .. basically the same thing.

I don't really ever have a lot of cash, but I can across a few cheap decent cars. Fixed them up and made some cash. I'm a mechanic, but I really don't know how to tune with hptuners. I can tune with a safc but that's just air/fuel. But I am going to go with a Meth kit. Where is the best place to buy one and do I need a tune for any cooling mods? So I already ordered the h/e, springs, interecptor, and I'm going to get my 3" custom cat back on tomorrow. Next is Meth and dual pass I guess then.
