K&N Typhoon Intake
K&N Typhoon Intake
Well guys, I just replaced my XTC front mount CAI with a K&N Typhoon intake and let me tell you, I was not prepared for the difference!!! I thought that the front mount would be superior since you got all of that air from the front, but no... big difference in sound and a little bit on the get up and go. If anyone is wondering which intake to get for an SS/SC, I would highly recommend it!
BTW, the front mount wasn't bad, I'll sell it for $65 shipped.
Okay, I have a question now... I just went into town and got a check engine light to pop up. It's throwing a lean code. Says "Lean to bank 1." Has anyone had this happen because I really hate check engine lights and it did this for about 2 days with my other intake. Just wanted to know if maybe the computer has to adapt to the new addition of air or something.

Just for Laughs
So my brother-in-law needed an air intake for a 89 Grand Marquis and couldn't find one, so we took the old front mount intake and afro engineered it on just for laughs. Because that's what bored Arkansan's do...

Notice the Foam wrapping and the zip ties.

afro engineered....classic
that is pretty ghetto rigged....as far as the CEL, you might try cleaning your MAF sensor, oiled filters can cause issues..... not all the time, but you might have gotten one that was little over-oiled.
and yes, we Arkansans do get bored and tend to go toward the shade-tree mechanic route

it hasn't been oiled in a while. it's my old one. but yeah, it's a little ghetto, it's no worse than the soup can horn that's on it or whatever that is. it seems to be working well though.

I did eventually get a lean code though..
But i modded my car? Arent i supposed to get cels?
