K&N Typhoon Intake Cleaning

Hey i'm probably well past due to clean my air filter on my K&N system. How do i clean it? I'm pretty sure i remember reading that it doesnt need oil because its a dryflow filter or something. So how do i clean it? Just rinse it out with water? BTW it has an outerwear on it.

Thanks,
Mike

AEM is dryflow, KnN does need oil, go to your local autozone and buy the recharge kit for it

The Typhoon is not a dry flow. The filter requires oil. You can replace the filter with an AEM dryflow if you would rather, but it was designed to have an oiled filter.

You will need to buy a recharge kit from K&N. I can't remember what the part number is right now, but I have the kit at home I can check in a few hours. Someone else will likely pipe up between now and then though.

You clean it with water, let it dry, then re-oil. The recharge kit has all the instructions you'll need to clean it correctly.
