what does porting the SC cost (roughly)? is that w/ you removing the SC yourself? do you get the SC polished as well?

I wonder who does that up here in Chitown....

I think that is a really good mod, as heat is one of the sources of destruction!

-Since Heat is what Pop these pistons with all those mods, I really doubt anyone will be blowing up anytime soon.
Let me know what you guys think.
IDK about that.. Blown-4-Banger has alot of cooling mods.. and he blew his **** up racing an SRT-4. (Nice kill BTW - Hows the whipple swap coming, 4-banger?)
but anyway, how do you explain that? Fuel Deprivation to #4 due to the return-less line?(i'm assuming he blew cyl. #4)

i have taken my blower off probably 10 times now. I can get it off in < 5 minutes... it's really easy. why not port it yourself? it will cost less to go get a dremel and the bits than to send it to a machine shop.

Polishing, you should definitly do yourself. You cant mess the car up doing this (assuming you put all connections back where they should be) - before i knew where they all went, i used to tape and # everything i removed. this makes re-installation a breeze.

Sullivan's, in plainfield IL will port the blower. They told me you need to give them the blower for a day and a half, and it costs $400.

Intesne-racing.com sells ported blower housings for $300 if you send yours back.

The stock internals are not safe, and are very weak. It doesn't matter how many cooling mods you have, the motor will go sooner or later.

His motor went boom because of the race gas tune. Even with race gas the car will knock every now and then, His car probably knocked, (about 5 degrees) while at the temps of 160 degrees since he was going like 140mph, and thats why he blew up.
There are a couple of other pepz who blew on while running race gas.
Race gas is not too safe on these cars.

Im sure that with all the cooling mods I mentioned,
22 degrees of timing, an AFR of 11.5 decreasing to high 10s at redline
There will be no blowing up.

same here man. i tried to find an 03-04 hardtop for less then 22k that was stock. yea, that went over like a fat chick on a diet.

besides, anything over 270 to the tire is over kill in these cars {in my opinion}

Easy! In between runs pop your hood and sit a 5 lb bag of ice on it! What not cool enough? Ok use DRY ICE! Still not cool enough? Sit another bag in front of your intercooler you can use dry ice there too. Still not enough! Geez! Ok pull your drivers side headlamp and pack ice around the air filter canister. Also check cause some tracks don't mind if you run with no headlamp and that will act as a HUGE scoop for you guys with where your filter is.

Packing it in ice WILL drop your ET's I gaurentee it!

I've seen some guys running alcohol injection on close to stock cars to lower temps. I was wondering what kind of benefits you are actually seeing. I've always used it on my cars when I was running too much boost/timing for pump gas. It did lower temps and definitly increased octane/fuel. But I always had to tune afterwards to get it running right. I mean I with a tune you can increase timing for more power, but without it you're dumping extra fuel in the mix and gonna be running rich, which decreases power. Just curious as to how this is benefiting anyone.
