I would go GM stage II cause it's really made for the car with the proper research and ECU flash. And more simpley, GM parts work the best for GM cars. GM ECU flash retunes the car, the intense sounds like it just tricks the ECU. Also many dealerships, in my area atleast, will still take care of a warranty issue if you get stage II from them. It's always good to have pro's who have to proper resources working on your car. A intense kit goes bad and your **** out of luck.

I'm haven't really researched alot, so if I'm wrong someone call me out.

IMO, the stage kits are way over priced but the only good part about the gm kits is the reflash. Ive decided to go with the intense kit.

I will eventually get the GM stage 2 only because I want more power, but I also want to keep (for the most part) my fuel economy and not have to worry about potential performance issues. This is also my only and every-day car, so I don't want it too tuned where it becomes a hassle to drive it through traffic. Of course the factory backing helps, too.

That said, if you want raw power and speed, I don't think GM is going to cut it.

The msrp does seem high, but I've seen some posts here from many people getting it below that, as well as E-baying the parts. I think if you shop around there's still good deals to be had.

most list between 750-800, but if you i've talked many down to 675 and lower. The money you save on the intense doesn't pay off if something goes wrong, you got to pay out of pocket, no warranty, remember that. It's worth it to save up a little longer for a GM kit. even though there's a little less HP, it's worth it in the warranty

I was reading the intense and the GM kits, they sound pretty much the same. What's the big difference anyone? Specs look the same, but I don't think the GM kit comes with plugs. Why does the intense have almost 20 more hp?

Kevin, you already know that with me and Aric, you won't ever have to worry about warranty work. The only good part about the GM kits is the raised rev limiter. Tuning software is close to being done, you'll make more power with the aftermarket kits.

GM stage kit all the way. If you add up all of the extra cost the the intense stage 3 you will spend close to or as much as the GM stage kit. As far as hitting 12s we all know you did but you also did not only have a stage 3 but a lot of other things to factor in the 1/4 mile time. I would like to see a GM stage 2 kit will all the other parts like DR, cold air, good exhaust, no or high flow cat, wheel hop inhibitors, header, clutch stage 2+ do in the 1/4 mile. I have not seen a post of that yet.

"ALL THE OTHER STUFF?" You must be kidding. A clutch/flywheel (which people WILL have to get even if they get the GM kit), a Corsa cat-back, and a cat delete with a different pulley. That's all there was. And if you take the cat off, you just voided your warranty, and what was the point of buying the GM kit? Rob was still on the STOCK EXHAUST MANIFOLD, STOCK AIR BOX AND FILTER, etc. You will not run 12's with the same stuff he had plus the GM stage 2, get real. You'd have to use a smaller pulley than what the kit comes with, and then again, you voided your warranty making it pointless to buy the GM kit. If you used everything you just described with the GM kit, you'd be close to 12's, and you might get it, but you had to spend alot more than Rob did, and you'd have to have more on your car than Rob did. Imagine how fast Rob will be with the 7K redline, a header, and an intake!

Unless ou have buddies at the dealer you are gonna be SOL.

It's a simple question? do you want to keep your warranty... then go with GM

do you just want to make tons of power and pour money into your car? get aftermarket... I'm not sure why it's confusing

aftermarket will have more potential, because it will push the limits of the car, GM won't push as much because they are keeping the car under warranty...

I wouldn't knock aftermarket completely, If you have the money it's the way to go. Just gotta realize that you are gonna be tweaking constantly, and stuff WILL break

HP Tuners and some other company's are releasing their software by the beginning of the month, then we'll be able to change whatever we want. Why spend $750 for the benefit of a raised rev limiter, when you can spend ~$500 and tune whatever you want on the car?

Give it time. Within a year, you're going to hear about people breaking valve springs with the GM kits, I don't care what other people say, my source is more reliable than anyone else's that I know of, and our stock valve springs are not meant to go past 6800 rpm's. You don't have to take my word for it. Between the clutches and valve springs, stuff has a chance of breaking even with the magical GM kits, and I'm going to laugh when some dealerships don't honor the warranty.

in my opinion im gonna stick with stage 1 for now and a cai ... reason being biggest power diffrence is in the stage 1 opposed to stage 2 i understand it pushes more torque but for it to justiffy a $500 dollar dif is not what im willing to pay... besides i want to wait if i do get a pully reason being... im a little iffy if the increased boost is gonna start blowing some seals and by what i hear... its possible...
