KN filter install help

KN filter install help

i reviewed the How to's and mine doesnt have any clamps with it, is it suppose to.

I saw one a while back that i cant find where they has to cut the plastic? what is this for and if so whats holding up the filter?

are you talking about the filter or the entire CAI? the filter should just be "drop in"

cutting the plastic is the airbox mod.... emulating what you get with an aftermarket CAI

if you have the drop in, it should be a direct repacement... take the old one out, put the new one in, good to go

It is but as far as the plastic piece on the bottom can i leave that off? or will the Filter fall out? some people say yes some say no.

Exactly - so in that case what some people have done is get the screw-type clamp, and drill a hole through their intake tube to tighten it. That's if you're doing the airbox mod. If you close it back up, the filter will be perfectly secure, as it's a direct replacement for the stocker.

and where do u put the clamp because the lip is on the inside not the outside
