Laminova core removal
I kinda just got a good grip on it and pulled it out.. kinda used my nails to my advantage... I seen a how to for the dual pass and it was saying like make sure to not **** anything up and I had to pull a little harder then I wanted but I didn't hurt anything
My fingers keep slipping off, those things are in there tight. Ya I saw that how to also and i Hope I dont much anything up, otherwise im gona be without a car for a while and have to buy an entire intake manifold from the stealership just to replace a messed up core.
I used pliers, carefully, i bent them just a small amount. I used a rag so that the pliers woudln't gouge into the laminova core. Swaped the bottom two directionally. Put the lil copper things back and poped on my endplate. I put the manifold in the bathtub, the inlet hose hung over the toilet and the outlet hose connected to the sink, I ran water through it (not realiseing its backwards) and I could find no leaks. So I ran water through correct way in the tub and coudlnt find any leaks either.

using pliers is fail. find a wood dowel or a round handle that will be a snug fit in the core,( I use the plastic covered handle of a T allen wrench I have) insert in the center of the laminova core, twist and draw out.
they are soft. they do get damaged easily. I have a box full for such issues that come to the shop. be careful.

And I didnt have a way to drive my car without an intake manifold. So I wraped arround with a rag and hoped for the best. It did dent them slightly but they didnt seem to leak when I leak tested it in the bathtub.
5 psi max with the water, but then the intake side gets say a 10 psi vacume, makeing the water to intake psid arround 15,
then under full boost (18 psi ) it pressures the other way , to 13 psid

I got mine out how powell racing suggested but I was able to use only my finger on all but one. On that one I had to bust out the channel locks, and just gave it a gentle 1/4 turn and then it popped out by hand.
Anyone else comes across this thread and is trying to get them out, clean the damn things, use a whole can of throttle body cleaner on them when they are out of the intake. Mine were willed with oil. They also did a good job of collecting a bunch of stuff that I would have found undesirable to get into my engine which somehow made it into my intake manifold.

i use brake clean but dont get it on the seals. The blow it off with compressed air, be careful not to bend the fins. And no , the pressure inside the laminova cooling system is less than 5 psi, boost has nothing to do with the coolant (heat extraction )side of the laminova cores/system.
the order of assembly is thin ring, thick ring, o ring last. Place them on the core, then pop them in; line up the big slots in the fins with the big slots in the IM. Dont leave the o rings inside the IM and try to seat the cores, it wont go well for you if you do it that way.
the purpose of the blank end for the inlet 0 oo 0 is the slow the freshly cooled (from the heat exchanger radiator) coolant down and force it in the sides ( the little square holes) to enable transfer of heat via the fins to the coolant. The the exit cores have a large opening so that the heated coolant gets moved out asap.

^This. I used this method back when I swapped my cores. Personally I believe this is one of the better approaches because you dont localize all of the clamping forces all in on little area, which results in clean core removal. Just take your time with them and dont go hog wild with the tightening of the hose clamps, just enough pressure to maintain contact.
