Talking Legit Exhaust Question

Alright, so here's my situation, I tried searching but I couldn't find the information i need. I've listened to all the clips of exhausts and as far as tone goes I prefer the GMPP Sport. What I couldn't find is how loud the GMPP really is inside the car. With my current rigged setup I'm going deaf, cruising at anything over 20 I can't have a conversation with a passenger. The current setup just has the muffler chopped off and replaced with a gigantic empty pipe and then a gigantic tip as well. Just doesn't do it for me.

I just want to make sure that the Sport exhaust isn't so loud at cruising speeds that I can't hear myself think, if it is I'll just go with the Touring. I don't mind if it's loud at WOT, or even accelerating really, but when I'm not on it I'd like it to be quieter from the drivers seat.

Help me and my sanity out please. Thank you.

ive heard the Sport & touring... they are both very quiet. You shouldnt have any noise issues with either

Perfect, thank you. Anyone else who has a similar (or different) opinion, feel free to chime in. I don't mind being reassured.

Cruising with the driver-side window down can get a little annoying with the GMPP sport exhaust. But once the window goes up its not bad at all! You will get so used to it you wont even notice...

i have the sport, coming from my old car which had a v6 with dual magnaflows, the GMP sport is annoying to me. I kind of regret getting it, but in some cases i like the sound. If you are cruising at 3-4k on the freeway it can be pretty annoying but other than that it's not too bad.

I've had both the GMPP sport and touring , the sport was loud enough inside the car to force me to switch to the touring . I have two kids and at highway speed i was a little concerned with them sitting in the back seat for any length of time . I think the touring is the best of both world's , nice tone when cruising , and loud enough when you get on it.

Touring is SLIGHTLY more mellow than the performance system, but both are very nice in tone and sound level, like stock only louder, not ricey or buzzing. My car sounded very nice before I removed the cat. Also, look into a ported manifold, I found it lowered the tone of the exhaust on my car, makes it sound like it has cams at idle.

I don't find it loud at all cruising. you can hear it but it doesn't interfere with conversation or even low volume radio use. it is decently loud at WOT but still isn't an eardrum killer. I love mine.

If you are worried about it being loud inside, then honestly you shouldn't get one at all. The sound inside is considerably louder, but not unbearable by any means. You just need to turn the radio up a little more. A few people have told me they definately hear it when I talk with them on my cell; maybe my phone has a sensitive mic, I don't know.

no no, that's why I AM getting one of these because my exhaust now IS unbearably loud, attempting to talk on my cell phone is not even a remote possibility. Like, it's getting to the point where the radio doesn't go any louder with my exhaust now, not to mention that there's all kinds of terribly ricey tones coming from it. But thank you your description of it actually did help me out.

What kind of exhaust do you have rigged up on your car now?

I didn't put it on, but from looking at it it just looks like the muffler was cut off and replaced with a huge empty pipe, and then the tip on it is 4" I think. There are a few spots when I'm accelerating that I actually like the sound, but not nearly as many as there are spots where it rattles and does all kinds of unpleasant things.

Why would you even let someone do something like that in the first place?

Bought the car used, it was already like that, there were stickers on it at that point also. Now that my cash flow has steadied back out after the initial expenses of the car I can look at making it my own, exhaust is my first step.
