Limit Boost in First- Stage 2
Limit Boost in First- Stage 2
Like everyone else with stage 2 or even stock more that matter, I have absolutely no traction in first gear. I am getting OTTP rotated mounts, but I'm sure I will obviously still spin. My question is what is the right amount of boost to run in first. I was thinking as low as 7 psi, but I'm not certain. Does anyone have experience with this? Will this be benificial? Will it make for a more "controlled" first gear?

i have a zzp stage 2 with 50% 1st gear boost reduction, thats set at 8-9 psi... can't rememeber. i'm only pushing 15lbs though. but i dont spin or ANYTHING coming off the line. i raced a gm stage 2 balt pushing 17 psi... off the launch i had 5-6 cars on him and held my ground. by the end of the ź he reeled me in down to me winning by 1˝ cars... so i think thats all that is really needed to be said on that subject... perfect example. oh i get zero wheel spin and NOOOO wheel hope. when i say no wheel spin. maybe a chirp. but mind you the ottp stages are different from zzp's... zzp stage 2 is 3.1 pulley,42's,plugs,oem K&N air filter. but i eat 2.9 pullied balts
when i say i eat 2.9 pullied let me say if they just have intake, pulley, can tune, injectors, plugs... not heat-exchanger, meth, full exhaust...

now to just find a tuner in illinois... hmm i have heard nothing good about the gms2 tune, and i have 60s and the harness at home.. i want to put them on, but not before i find a tuner
Heres the boost reduction mod for S2, stock, any SC for that matter: driver mod
there is no WOT in first, you can't unless you're driving through cold molasses with superglue as tires, you shouldn't ever be on that much throttle in first unless you're a good driver, at the top of the gear, and know when its going to break traction
