For those saying limited slip not being equipped compromises the handling are FOS. If you were ***** to the wall through turns like I often am and both of your tires started to spin you would be in the ditch in no time - high speed cornering is better without a limited slip IMO because you can put the power down without dragging the car out of line.
I can't believe someone would actually make this comment.

Hands down tie for *MOST INCORRECT* thing said on this thread... runner up is the guy who said LSD doesn't help in a straight line.

Yea that was a pretty silly thing to say about having an LSD . My SS/SC has the G85 package and I am so glad I bought the car that way, leaving lights, coming off of corners, etc the cars is just so much better with it than with out. I was watching a video on street fire and there is a guy with a blue SS/SC that doesn't have the LSD and as he comes off a corner it just lites up one of the tires for probably ahundred feet. The only thing I found funny with the LSD was this morning on my way to work in the snow(first time this season for Toronto) as I was going around a corner if I started to apply any power even a little bit it would start to push to the outside of the corner. In the rain the car is fine I just need to go to my local Loblaws and get used to the car in the snow and yes I have snow tires(you would be a fool to drive this car with out them)

another car that when it first came out was the Mini Cooper S and it had no option for an lsd and you couldn't leave a corner with out it roasting it's lighter tire. Also my Z24 would do awesome burnouts but the odd time if you didn't drive it proper it would light up a tire not for very long but it would

I work at a Chevy dealer, there is an SS/SC WITH OUT LSD with a blown tranny in the shop right now. Basically what happened was the owner was doing so many 1 wheel burnouts that the diff pin blew up and when that happened it cracked the ENTIRE tranny. This will not be covered under warantee due to blatent abuse. Before you go accuse us of being unfair and screwing people... we are usually pretty good when it comes to customer service, usually top 3 in Canada. They also replaced the clutch on this car at 14K when they didnt have to under warantee. An entire tranny + install, is close to $7K.

I realize this is an extreme case and you have to be rediculously hard on your car to do this, but I would recommend getting the LSD and I don't even own an SS.... yet

LSD for sure. I from the Blue Ridge mountains in MD and man do we have some crazy-ass roads. When I went home last time I drove my buddy's non LSD down a road I love and I could feel a huge difference. My car has the LSD and I can say that I take turns with much more ease and speed will still in control then his non LSD will every dream of.

Yes Canadian $$

Its a 6 hour job to replace the tranny and the tranny itself is something like 6K. We don't set the price of the tranny, GM does, the dealer has to make some money on the job. He can take his car elsewhere if he wants.

6 grand for a tranny?? thats the dealer making money right there...My cousin is the GM for a chevy dealership in san antonio tx.... I know for a fact they don't cost 6 grand!

Dealer makes money on parts as well...don't try BS and saying that you don't.and 1000 for labor?? Nothing like charging a guy over 150.00 dollars an hour for labor

He can take his car elsewhere if he wants.

If I was him....I would

Well you said 7K for a new tranny and labor?

then you said 6K for the tranny...which leaves 1K for labor...you then said 6 hour install...

thats 166.66 and hour? Sorry just went off what you said...

So you are saying out of a 7k dollar tranny install the dealer only makes 415 dollars? And all of the money the dealer makes is off the install?....I highly doubt it!
