A Little Advice

How's everyone doing. I'm just looking for a little advice. This upcoming summer I'm looking to get a new car. I've narrowed it down to the SS/SC and the new civic SI. I'm really leaning toward the SS, but the civic has some good things about it too. The real deciding factor for me is going to be the stage kits that are supposed to be coming out soon. If they aren't too expensive, it's no question what car I'm going to get. Can anyone guess how much these stage packages are going to be; ballpark?
One more thing, other than support, how are the optional seats? I'm somewhat partial to the two-tone inserts as standard.

Thanks

Pricing-wise, I'd say between $500-$800 for the stage 2 kit (just guessing) and it should give you 40hp. Also, that price doesn't include labor...

However, if you don't need your warranty, there are currently two aftermarket "stage" kits available from INTENSE racing and Modern Performance that will put you in the 260-280whp range for around $500-$600. Combined with other modifications, you get yourself around 300whp.

The new Civic SI's are nice, but I don't think it will be as easy to get that kind of power out of them. Since they are N/A motors, to turbo or s/c the motor would take a lot of time and money.

Go for the SS. The Recaro seats are amazing!!! It is a must have package. The LSD is what you really want but the seats just top it all off!!

Thanks. Yeah, warrenty is key for me. Yeah, 500-800 is not bad for that much power. LSD is key, it's standard with the SI, that was one of its key features. But I'm about 99% for the cobalt now. I'm good friends with the owner of a GM dealer, so I figure I can probably get some killer deals.

Thanks for the help

I test drive both cars. The SI sucks! Its feals slow and you have to rev the **** out of it to get that 197 (Clamed) hp. And it has like 132lb of torque. And that sucks. It had a hard time spining the tires. Where the SS will spin them when you are not even trying to. Also its INS is alot higher then Cobalts. I pay 800 for 6 months with SS and the SI was going to be 1290!. And it s a slower car!

I saw a new Civiv Si on the week-end. Terrible colour, almost beige.....but it looked really sweet in real life. The 17" rims look better than I thought.
