You don't need either until you upgrade the injectors and lower the pulley.

When it comes to cooling mods on these cars you want to get as many as possible. Even on stock cars you will get alot faster in the 1/4

Without a tune you will not notice any difference on a stock car. You will reduce heat soak, but that will NOT help you gain better 1/4 times, just keep them consistant.

Once you go stage 2 or higher any cooling mods help reduce IAT and heat soak, which will help especially on consecutive hard runs or extended hard runs. Like I said before, if the IAT gets too high the car will reduce boost or pull timing. Even on a stage 2 or higher car you will not GAIN HP with cooling mods unless you are tuned for it, you will simply stop detonation and engine damage. But with the cooling mods you can get tuned and run more timing which will gain you HP.

If you are just installing a header you shouldn't get a CEL. If you install a downpipe with high flow cat or go catless then you will more then likely get a CEL.

Seriously, did you even read ralliartist's thread or just stick the link in here because you felt like it?!

He is saying the same crap I just said - HE TUNED FOR THE COOLING MODS!!!!!

You didn't even quote the entire thing:

If you are going to try and make smartass comments at least read everything first.

Ok,is there a way you can get rid of the cel? Cuz some cars they have antifoulers and that will get rid of the light. So when running a smaller pulley will I throw a code?

in the begining all he did was **** with tq mangament, boost limits and raised the redline. he didn't "tune for cooling mods" and still had gains in the 1/4.

Messing with TQ management and boost limits can easily gain you time.. maybe even 1/10 of a second...

If you are changing injectors you MUST get a tune or flash. If you are doing cooling mods or swapping pulleys it isn't necessary to get a tune.

You can use HP Tuners to delete the code.

You can clear codes by simply disconnecting the battery. If you want to DELETE a code you must use HPTuners to delete it.

A tune and flash are basically the same thing... normally a flash is a simple write done at a dealer. A tune is when you actually get HPTuners (or other tunign software) and make adjustments. Another option done by some vendors is to swap the actual PCM.

Oh ok i got you. Disconnecting the battery for like 5 mintues resets the ECU? But the code would come back on after it find it again right?

Question: Does this car have a Adaptive or Learning ECU?
